Poverty Bay Coffee
1108 S 322nd Pl, Federal Way, WA
Crema's Take
“This Federal Way espresso destination strikes a nice balance between quick coffee runs and leisurely mornings, with a laid-back patio that's particularly welcoming to dogs and their humans. While reviews are decidedly mixed on execution and pricing consistency, those who connect with the spot appreciate the thoughtful menu offerings, order-at-counter service model, and genuinely relaxed vibe that feels more neighborhood hangout than typical coffee shop hustle. If you're seeking a place for slow sit-downs with quality pour overs or cold brew rather than drive-through efficiency, it's worth a visit—just manage expectations around food costs and check current pricing before ordering.”

Me and my girlfriend came here for the first time we should’ve already known not to go when we walked in and it was very dirty, we paid over $40 for two little breakfast meals and they only gave us one. We got all the way home and realized there was only one meal in the bag so we went back and got the biscuits and gravy that we didn’t get. I would understand if it was busy and they forgot our meal, but there was hardly anybody in there and they gave us an attitude when we came back to get our meal that they forgot. Are food tasted like crap the biscuits taste like they’ve been sitting there for days. They’re stale and hard. The gravy is runny and disgusting. Everything about this place is gross. Don’t go.
If you want overpriced food and terrible service this is your place. Menu on their website is severely outdated displaying lower prices than what they had. The cashier overcharged me and conveniently forgot my receipt so I had to request one to get my money back. The manager even gave me attitude and didn’t even apologize for their screw up. Don’t waste your money here
The food was good. Order at the counter and they'll bring you the meal. Lots of unique offerings too. The patio is great for dogs. The restaurant has a battery collection receptacle. It is clear they care about the community!
I picked this spot as it was on my way to Tacoma and read some reviews that were positive. It’s an order at the counter spot and has a sizable breakfast menu. My colleague ordered the omelette and I went with the Biscuits & Gravy Combo with Bacon. My colleague said she liked her omelette. As for my Biscuits & Gravy, it was a split decision for me. The sausage gravy was really good, but the biscuits were exceptionally firm and a bit chewy. The eggs were fine and hash browns were good. The drip coffee was good. As for service, the staff was adequate, but not really into conversation. The restaurant had ample seating both inside and out.
Yummy breakfast, portion is right proportion with pricing. Staff is friendly, ambiance is not overwhelming like black diner. More laid back setting. Order first before you can seat. There's breakfast, lunch, hot beverage, appetizer, no french fries but there's burgers. Cute funny decors. Lots of sitting and parking. Service is quick about 10min wait.
