We booked our reservation three months in advance, and after finally experiencing it, I can tell you it is worth every second of the wait. The Food: Perfection and Surprising Value The star of the show is undeniably the food. My Delmonico and the Filet Mignon were both cooked to a flawless medium—exactly as requested. While Bern’s is a high-end establishment, the value is actually outstanding. Unlike most premium steakhouses where every single item is a la carte, Bern’s includes delicious sides (like those iconic onion strings and green beans) and a salad with the meal. The Service: John C. is a Legend A huge shoutout to our waiter, John C. He was professional, incredibly personable, and just overall "cool." Honestly, if he wasn't on the clock, I would have invited him to pull up a chair and join us. He made the experience feel personal rather than transactional. The Dessert Room: A Separate World After dinner, we skipped the kitchen and wine cellar tour to head straight for the Harry Waugh Dessert Room. Pro tip: Make sure you have a reservation for this part too. It’s located upstairs and feels like an entirely different, intimate restaurant. Watching the staff prepare the Baked Alaska tableside with a literal torch was the perfect theatrical end to the night. The Highlights: Best Value High-End Steak: Full meals (sides included) at a price point that beats the "a la carte" competition. The Atmosphere: It’s not just dinner; it’s an immersive event. The Drinks: The Espresso Martini (pro tip: add Baileys) and the Cappuccino Martini were top-tier. Bottom Line: Bern's lives up to the hype. Between the perfectly cooked steaks and the unique dessert room experience, it is a Tampa staple for a reason.

My husband and I had dinner here a few days ago. The last time we dined here was over 15 years ago. This place has not changed much over the years, in a good way. Our waiter was incredibly. We started with the famous French onion soup - so good. We shared a large, dry aged steak, which was cooked to perfection, and we each had green beans and a baked potato. Their wine selection is extensive, to say the least. We ended the night in the desert room with their baked Alaska, which is just as good as it was 15 years ago, and a flight of port wine. Also, if you have time, do the kitchen and wine cellar tour.

We had a very good meal. My wife and I shared a 30 ounce porterhouse which was cooked to perfection, my daughter ordered the roasted lobster which she said was very good. With every entrée, you receive French onion soup and a Caesar salad that is made table side, which was delicious. I recommend definitely going into the dessert room afterward. Bon appétit.

This was our first visit to Burns steakhouse and we celebrated my wife’s birthday! What a classic steakhouse! The inside of the restaurant was so well decorated, and the staff was extremely friendly. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, and our food was delivered to our table perfectly! After our dinner, we did take a tour of the kitchen and wine cellar. The two gentlemen that gave us the tour were super knowledgeable and we learned a ton about the restaurant. After our tour, we went to the desert room and hadour very own little intimate booth. I have the café con Leche, and my wife had a coffee. Both were extraordinary! I had the Pistachio cheesecake and my wife had one of their signature ice cream desserts. What a special night and thank you to all of the staff of Burns steakhouse! What a great birthday celebration!

My good friend and I celebrated his birthday on Tuesday 12/2 in the lounge (where a more relaxed dress code is accepted) around 6:30. We decided to come in last minute but it was a great spontaneous choice! We got sat right away at a nice booth in the corner, the server was very fast and friendly! I ordered a tequila cocktail and my friend enjoyed an old fashion. All of the food was amazing and we shared some dishes as well, so good! Loved the atmosphere and people watching!! And last but not least, we of course decided to go upstairs to the dessert room and take a kitchen/wine cellar tour…. Don’t forget to ask towards the end of your meal!
