Crema's Take

Kawaii Kokoro is a hidden gem Japanese patisserie in Lihue where delicate, subtly-flavored pastries steal the show, especially their legendary coconut macaroons and impossibly good profiteroles in creative flavors like matcha and chocolate. The cozy, cute space pairs beautifully crafted desserts with quality coffee and tea, creating the perfect slow sit experience where every bite feels intentional and nothing is cloyingly sweet. This is the kind of place islanders return to again and again, leaving with boxes full of treats and already planning their next visit.

Quite possibly the best coconut macaroons on the island. We took 6 and 4 profiteroles but will be returning for probably a dozen of each 😂

Such a cute patisserie. Got the cappuccino creme brulee and mango mousse. Both were simple but delicious! Loved the subtle flavors and it’s not too sweet

One of the best desserts I have ever had, period. We ordered the chocolate and the green tea matcha profiteroles, both are to die for. Their mango mousse was also excellent. I feel all of their prices are super cheap for the top quality of products they serve. Not sure how are they making any profit on the profiteroles... Lol.. had to say this.

Everything was amazing! A hidden gem. If you enjoy Japanese patisseries this is for you. Deliciously crafted bite sized desserts everyone would enjoy. The cream used with the profiteroles was outstanding in the green tea and vanilla we had. The prices were very reasonable for what you get and in my opinion the prices could be higher. We will be back.

Cute hidden gem of a bakery in Lihue!! One of the best bakeries I’ve ever tried. They have a variety of baked goods, cookies, and hot beverages (tea, coffee, hot chocolate). I tried the vanilla bean profiterole, green tea profiterole, and their Lilikoi mousse. They were all AMAZING!! Thoroughly enjoyed them all and was immersed in the flavours. The prices are SO good as well. I got the 3 baked items, a bag of Russian tea biscuits, and a cup of tea for $10! The lady working there is super sweet as well. Will definitely be coming back regularly. Must try!
