The Coffee Shop
1441 N 4th St, San Jose, CA
Crema's Take
“Nestled inside a vintage bowling alley, this genuine San Jose institution serves up enormous, well-executed diner classics in booths that feel like they've been welcoming regulars for decades. The worn interior is part of its charm—reviewers rave about the nostalgic, hometown atmosphere and generous portions that actually taste good, whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for a full breakfast with friends. It's the kind of place where you feel like a local the moment you sit down, comfort food done right in a setting that refuses to apologize for being authentically old-school.”

It’s an old coffee shop attached to a bowling alley. The food is diner food. Everything was good. Nothing special but acceptable.
Welcome back to the past with a real local diner feel. Omelets were huge - too big to finish! Sit at the counter or in nice old school booths. Don’t let appearances scare you - this is a great place for breakfast.
Vast menu of American eats, taste and portion sizes are on point. Cant wait to come back and try something else. This diner is really a gem in SJ. Servers were nice and attentive.
It's been around for a long time as you can see by the "tired" interior. But the food was great!! We would still reccommend.
Great old school dinner. Felt like one of the locals sitting and chatting with friends. The food was just like you get in your hometown dinner if yours is still around. All cooked well and done right.
