Gourdough's Food Trailer
1503 S 1st St, Austin, TX
Crema's Take
“This beloved Austin food trailer has earned its cult following by doing something wonderfully unexpected: crafting donuts made entirely to order so they arrive warm, fluffy, and impossibly fresh every single time. Beyond the stellar donuts—with creative flavors like the Nutty Valentine and Baby Rattler that people genuinely rave about—there's a chill, family-friendly vibe perfect for lingering over coffee and pastries, though fair warning that the made-to-order magic does mean a bit of a wait. Whether you're stopping by late at night for a sweet treat, grabbing a crispy breakfast sandwich on a cold morning, or just settling into their cute outdoor spot with good music in the background, this is the kind of place that transforms a casual coffee run into something genuinely special.”

Cute outdoor spot but the service was very slow even for made to order. The Nutty Valentine was wonderful!! Large enough to split.
Absolutely loved the donuts. They are warm, sugary, fresh and gives you a satisfaction when you have a sweet tooth. The mini monkey, baby rattler and freebird were all flavors that we tried and loved. Also loved the fact that they have mini and Big options so you can go even if you’re craving a small portion. Will definitely be back to try other varieties.
Good music. Chill atmosphere. Amazing donuts. Got the mcgordough breakfast sandwich with double egg instead of sausage. The sandwich was just what we needed on a cold morning. Crispy, delectable, delicious. The naughty or nice mini was also amazing. All in all great experience.
Wow. I love donuts but that was next level. All donuts are made fresh to order. I've never been to a place that does that. So no matter what you get it's going to be fresh and warm and moist and incredible. I got the Sarah's Joy because I love coconut and it blew my mind. This place will make you look at every donut you ever eat for the rest of your life and think "I wish this was from Gourdough's." The guy manning the truck was super friendly. Parking is bad just fyi, only paid parking but it's not like you're eating a full meal so you aren't there that long.
I came into town for a visit and was recommended Gourdough’s as a late-night treat. I tried both a savory donut and a sweet one. The sweet donuts were definitely the highlight. Great structure, fluffy texture, and really nice flavor. For the savory side, I ordered the Ron Burgundy. Unfortunately, it fell a bit flat. The beef lacked seasoning, the sauce was overly messy, and by the time I got it, the donut had gone soggy. As for service: ordering online was easy, but the wait was frustrating. Our order showed as “in progress” for over an hour, and when we finally went to check, the donuts were already sitting there ready, no call or notification. It left me wondering how long they’d been waiting. Overall, worth stopping in for the sweet creations, but I’d pass on the savory.
