Crema's Take
“This French-Vietnamese bakery in Philadelphia is a genuine neighborhood gem where everything from the croissants to the banh mi bread is made fresh in-house, earning passionate devotion from regulars and visitors alike. The warm, enthusiastic staff will guide you through their offerings with genuine care, and while it's cash-only and delightfully no-frills, the quality of their laminated pastries and house-baked bread justifies becoming a devoted regular yourself. Whether you're grabbing a flaky almond croissant for the road or settling in for a proper sit with an excellent banh mi, you're experiencing real craft in every bite.”

Absolutely delicious and I will be adding this to places I need to take out of towners to. Artisan Boulanger makes their banh mi breads and croissants in house. They smell and taste fresh. I also recommend the Vietnamese iced coffee. It is pre-prepped, so you cannot adjust the condensed milk amount. But it did not disappoint! I was afraid it was going to be too sweet and lose the coffee flavor, but they added just the right amount. This is a small owned business and the owners here are sweet & build a community around their shop. There are a couple tables inside, but you cannot also take it to passyunk and sit on the benches
Oh my god. These croissants are probably the best thing I’ve ever had in my entire life on this earth. The almond croissant is one packed dense beauty, and has quite frankly ruined every other existing almond croissant out here in Philly. I’ve probably had every almond croissant in the city and nothing comes remotely close to Artisan’s. The chocolate almond croissant is really special just like Miss Amanda here, a lovely woman with a good heart. Not only are the sweet treats a delight, but they make a filthy mean breakfast sandwich They treat the customers like family and cook with love. Safe to say I’ll keep coming back to try them all 🖤
The server was kind and let me finish eating my pork belly banh mi. The bread had a nice crunch. I think the fresh veggies complimented the oily pork belly. I wish there was more sauce on the banh mi, it was pretty faint.
I got a chocolate croissant and it was $4 and great and the worker gave me a cup of water when I asked. Unfortunately I can’t look past a couple sins so I’m dropping a 4 star instead of a 5 star review: 1. This place is cash only, but it is almost impossible to tell until you’ve already ordered and are going to pay. Size 24 font on a piece of paper at the register area, and on one of the windows front windows in similarly tiny font on a little piece of paper. 2. Prices are not put next to items on the menu on the wall, and I didn’t see another place to look at the menu though they may have paper menus somewhere. This ones simple for me, I want price transparency so I know how much I’m paying for what. Sins being laid out, I’d still definitely go back. I want to try a croissant sandwich, they looked amazing, and now I’ll be prepared for cash only
5/24/25 Very nice staff and cash only! When walking in you’re greeted by a very enthusiastic older gentleman who will walk you thru whats good if you’ve never been on what may be good. And everything he recommends does look tasty lol. They do have atm on site and this is one of best spots to come by, one of my fave pork banh mi I’ve recently had and that day it seemed on par with the ones from cafe cuong and ba lê. the pistachio croissant is good but need to try the other ones and I like the Vietnamese coffee I had to also go with this apple tart thingy which I was told was made with love , it’s good lol This place also has good breakfast sausage egg and cheese sandwich and worth getting if in area. They do have some juice and pre made rival bros items and the ham and cheese croissant may be next lol. I’ll be back for sure to try some other items!
