Bagel Beanery

Went inside the Bagel Beanery to place an order. When I entered the bagel shop, I was not greeted. At this point I was understanding with the lack of customer service as I understand bagel shops can be busy in the morning and I could see the staff working. However, the longer I stood there, ignored by staff members that clearly saw me, the more irritated I became. Finally I asked an employee if they are drive thru only, maybe they thought I was there to pick up an order. The reply I received was “no”. No apology or reason as to why a customer was being ignored. Customer service says a lot. If a business can’t handle a drive thru, in store customers and larger orders, maybe they should not try to do them all. Customer service goes a long way.

Food was great but the service was unforgivable! Got there and they were out of a bagel for my order I placed online. I said I'd take a different bagel then. Waited 20 minutes before I got acknowledged after that while I was the only one in the lobby area while the six staff members behind the counter were just laughing and talking and having a good old time and not doing anything productive. I thought maybe it was cooking. Once I was acknowledged a gentleman asked if I'd been helped said I was waiting for my online order and he repeated that they were out of that bagel! I said again I would take the other one. After that I asked if I could get some kind of compensation for the time I waited. The girl said that this other lady I would have to talk to. She went and talked to her and she didn't even turn around. Never have I had that bad of service or felt that disregarded in any service industry!

Staff was courteous, professional, attentive and prompt. The Americano coffee purchased was excellent due in part to the dark roast of the beans. It is great to taste and see a good dark roast, as espresso should be. Too many coffee shops opt for a more blond roast. We are on our 5th espresso machine at home and know a good cup when we taste it.

I've visited twice recently and had a mixed experience. The staff is friendly, but there have been a couple of mix-ups with my orders. Yesterday, I received a sandwich with pork instead of the turkey I requested, and today, my sandwiches were not toasted as asked. Additionally, I found paper in my sandwiches, which raised concerns about sanitation. While I appreciate the convenience of grabbing a quick bite, the quality and attention to detail seem to be lacking, considering the price. I believe there's great potential here, and I hope to see improvements in future visits. UPDATE: I reached out to Bagel Beanery and spoke with the General Manager, Bri/Bree. I was pleased with the prompt and courteous response. A refund was issued immediately, and I was offered a certificate for my next visit to make up for the inconvenience. I appreciate the management's willingness to address the concerns and their gesture of goodwill. This response has restored my confidence in their customer service, and I look forward to giving them another try.
