Crema's Take

Undercurrent is a cozy Charlotte gem where espresso craftsmanship meets comfort, thanks to thoughtfully designed spaces like plush couches that make lingering over a cappuccino feel natural. Their creative seasonal drinks—like the memorable Black Forest latte—showcase barista skill that goes beyond the standard menu, while their breakfast offerings, especially the grit bowl with bacon and egg, prove they take food as seriously as their pour-overs. It's the kind of place where kind counterstaff and a mix of indoor and outdoor seating make it equally suited for solo coffee contemplation or meeting up with friends.

They have couches!! Love comfy seating. And their fall drink menu is immaculate. I got the Black Forest latte and I've never had anything quite like it. So great. And how cute is the breakfast sandwich!? Great vibe inside too.

I fear I dream about their grit bowl, with bacon and egg and that tomato goodness. So much yum. So filling. So perfect. Truly. Go try it. The people behind the counter are always kind- even if the place has a line and tables are full.

Undercurrent Coffee is an adorable coffee shop with limited indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating. Its a quite busy coffee shop considering the area. If you can snag a seat its cozy and a little noisy from all the chatter. Pricing is fairly reasonable even for their seasonal flavors best of the time of year. All in all, its a nice little coffe shop to work at, catch up with an old friend or grab a drink and go.

Perfect place to enjoy flavorful cappuccino and latte with oatmilk. Professional barista makes a difference vs nearby roastery).

One of my girlfriends and I wanted to try a cute coffee place, as we are both coffee fans and visiting the Charlotte area. This place was super disappointing, low quality, and incredibly overpriced. Our breakfast sandwiches were tiny, cold, and made with a hamburger bun. My friend’s gluten free option came un-toasted and we had to ask them to warm it up. The cappuccino was good. Check out the pictures attached for a better understanding of the mediocre quality of the eats!
