Crema's Take
“Bru Coffee House has earned a devoted following in the Tulsa area for their reliably excellent espresso drinks and thoughtfully designed spaces that feel equally welcoming whether you're settling in with a laptop for hours or grabbing a quick Americano. The café strikes that sweet spot between serious coffee craftsmanship and genuine hospitality, with a cozy, modern atmosphere that keeps regulars coming back year after year. Their specialty lattes and carefully sourced pastries make it the kind of neighborhood spot where both the coffee and the experience feel worth your time.”

I really wasn't impressed. The coffee was awful. I ordered a caramel cloud latte, but what I got tasted like fruit loops... super weird and gross. The Macaroon that had the gummy bear on it wasn't the best idea. The gummy bear was hard and stale. Also, you could barely see the food on display because it was all foggy. Definitely not a good first impression and I won't be back.
I purchased a large drip coffee at 2:15 in the afternoon. The 2 young ladies working there were very nice but quickly got overwhelmed with a couple customers in the store. When I received my hot drip coffee, it was actually cold. When I went back up, I was told the coffee is made fresh each morning (it is now 2:15 in the afternoon) and that sometimes it gets cold later in the day. While she was very nice and wanted to be very helpful, I do not think that she understood the concept of the difference between fresh and old coffee. She poured me another cup and just steamed it to warm it up. It was a long day and I really just wanted a cup of coffee so I took it and said thank you. There was no need to get my 3 dollars back Since I have drank much worse, coffee in the past. I write this post, not to put down the workers that were there, they were trying extremely hard to make sure everything was done and people were served. I write this post in reference to management, unfortunately doing a poor job training how to judge the difference between fresh and old coffee at a coffee house. I do also own a small business, and I fully understand how it is difficult to keep up with training and to manage turnover and also to keep up with the demands of customers. Since I do own a small business and I do understand those items I understand also that the importance of doing the basics at a minimum is the least I can have my people do. I have been to this coffee house several times and in the past have gotten other items so this is the first time I’ve ever purchased a hot drip coffee this late in the afternoon. I have always had a great experience, unfortunately, in a world of small business, sometimes the bad experiences outweigh the good.
I love bru! I have been an avid customer for many years and the cafe was the best edition to owasso. Finally a space that you can meet, study, etc with such a good drink. My favorite is an Americano made by Courtney!
Ah, Bru– the spot where the aroma of freshly ground beans hits you like a warm hug from an old friend. The lattes? Divine. The ambiance? Cozy enough to make you forget about your overflowing inbox. But let's talk tea: they're using Walmart's Great Value bags, which means older leaves and finer bits (fannings/dust) for that quick, straightforward brew. It's reliable and unpretentious, but dropping nearly $7 on a large feels like paying gourmet prices for economy. Especially since lower-quality teas often pack higher natural fluoride and potential trace pesticides. Next time, I'll stick to the coffee. Still love you, Bru.
Bru Coffee House has always set high standards for the quality of their coffee and modern sleek designs. I have been a customer for many years, and been able to watch them grow their businesses to what it is today . The Garnett location in particular has raised the standards of coffee houses in Owasso. Surpassing the mediocre standard of Owasso’s coffee locations, Bru Owasso, has been able to offer practical and luxurious feels on the interior; complimentary free WiFi and charging stations are an available amenities. Customer service has always been top notch- manager Drew, has transcended the quality of the coffee to match. The easy to read and suggestive menu offers a quick and practical solution to the standard coffee drive thru experiences. It highlights classic items in addition to premade favorites of the barista and customers. Tumblers are available for added discounts on your favorite drinks- a loyalty program is also offered to your linked cards/phone numbers for the regulars like myself. Review breakdown on my recent orders: Pictured below: My partner and I ordered Hot sunshine lattes and iced blackberry orchard., lotus. The lotus was flavorful and strong. Flavors were as described. 8/10. The sunshine latte was hot, smooth, rich and creamy. Flavors were not overpowering and the espresso shots were still able to coke through, offering that warm feel, after taste was pleasant. 9.5/10. As any good reviewer and coffee lover, we ordered a plain, black drip coffee- really wanted to delve into the coffee profile. To my surprise, it wasn’t overly bitter or too dark of a roast. Common issue with other drip coffees in town. Price is average, and cup quality wasn’t overall satisfactory… flavor profile was not as deep as I was hoping, however, just a simple cup of joe for those less complex folks. 7.2/10. Suggestions for merchant: Offering In-house/Dine in cups and plates for enjoyment would be preferable. Costly investment maybe, but most assuredly needed to elevate that experience. Really missing the latte art on something as delicious as a sunshine latte- what a way to introduce its warmth visually. Lowering the drip coffee price to be below community average would make some regulars on that item. Customer suggestions: Strengths and emphasis on the lotus and lattes. All have been delicious. Stopping in for work, school and/or a simple meeting with a drink is perfect for all. Highly recommend all around, most assuredly the best coffee house in town- locally or globally owned.
