Crema's Take

This West Hollywood roastery excels at crafting silky, well-balanced espresso drinks—their lattes are genuinely smooth and approachable—and welcomes you to linger over a pour over or creative cold foam creation in a beautiful, calm space perfect for both work and slow coffee appreciation. While the beans and atmosphere earn consistent praise, recent visits suggest service can be inconsistent, so the experience really depends on when you visit and who's behind the counter.

I got the Ice Raspberry Rose Cold Foam Mocha, and it was okay. I would get another drink next time. I tried to order lunch, but I was not on time.

I’ve been coming to this location for the past four years, but this past year the customer service has gone bitter. I must note that the coffee and the lovely interior has been consistently solid the entire time. My issue is with how cold this place has gotten while forgetting the entire premise of a 3rd space. (Literally they crank the ac to freeze you out) If management has issues with laptop squatters, figure out thoughtful policies to deal with that. Arts District Verve has it figured out. Current tactics feel like subtle psychological warfare to anyone looking to catch up with a friend or have a restful moment in their neighborhood. Staff engage with you as if they’re deeply inconvenienced by your existence. By about 5pm, an hour before closing time, a choreographed dance begins to make customers feel as unwelcome as possible: Outdoor and indoor seating is being stacked, coffee grounds are loudly vacuumed, a staffer starts screeching a countdown until closing (repeatedly) to the entire shop. I get that it’s time to go home. I’m guessing management doesn’t pay for a minute past 6pm? That doesn’t explain why staff feel clinical and disengaged all day. Well before 5pm—there is no warmth, no acknowledgment of regulars, no passion for coffee cupping or single-origin or anything most 3rd wave neighborhood shops love to geek out about. (Be Bright and Good Intentions have my whole heart if you need recs) It’s all very transactional and corporate… which btw if I can let you in on a little secret…is what most people are trying to take a short break from when they enter a 3rd space. Management! Keep the warmth alive rather than relying on location for real staying power and relevance. With utmost respect—people remember most how you and your space made them feel.

Visited Verve Coffee Roasters and had such a good experience. I got their latte and it was super smooth, well-balanced, and not too strong — exactly the kind of coffee you can enjoy slowly. The café itself is bright, airy, and surprisingly spacious for the area. It’s a great place to chill, work, or take a quiet break in between errands. Friendly staff, relaxed vibes, and plenty of room to settle in. Definitely one of my favorite coffee stops in LA!

Overpriced, unwelcoming staff, and mediocre coffee. The food is tasty and the interior is beautiful and welcoming, but that’s where the positives end. The main downside here is customer service. the staff member taking our order did not seem friendly at all, was foreign to hello/hi, incapable of a smile, chose to point to things rather than talk to us, and didn’t heat the croissant we ordered with the excuse that they don’t have a machine. I find it hard to believe that. And if somehow they missed this key purchase they sure seem to afford one with the prices they charge. Speaking about customer service, I had to remind them about the drink we ordered they somehow missed it

Such a lovely coffee shop. Came early on a Saturday morning and it was not busy at all. Quiet and was able to get some work done. The iced latte was so smooth and the capaccino tasted as good as it looked! We also ordered a side of toast with jam and butter. The jam we amazing, homemade I believe. Love this place
