Crema's Take

Bowerbird Coffee is a hotel-housed café that nails hospitality and atmosphere with genuinely attentive staff and lovely ambiance, though its espresso program seems inconsistent—some customers rave about the experience while others find the coffee itself underwhelming despite the charm. The shop sources PERC coffee for drip and stocks quality pastries and Saratoga water, making it a solid spot for the full café experience rather than purely for coffee purists. Fair warning: hotel location means you'll pay premium prices ($7-8 for cold brew), so it's best approached as a welcoming gathering place where the baristas will happily remake your drink if something's off.

The coffee here is terrible. I thought the milk was off it was that bad. Turns out, milk was fine, it was just the awful coffee.

I will echo what many have said—service was good and ambiance is lovely, but the actual crafted coffee is abysmal. They use PERC coffee for their regular drip, which is always good (just go to PERC and pay less). My advice DO NOT think you are getting what is listed on their website. I was so excited to try one of their speciality lattes or the house made chai, but when we got there, they didn’t have most of the specialty drinks listed and the house chai was BOXED TAZO MIX. It is absolutely criminal that they charge $7 for boxed chai when they advertise online that it is house made. Don’t go out of your way to go here, just go to PERC if you like their drip or walk across the street to Gallery Espresso for cheaper and better quality.

Lovely spot, good service… my cappuccino was not good; however, I asked the barista to remake it and the second one was much better. So if you have a poor experience, be sure to let them know so they have a chance to make it right.

Overpriced coffee. This coffee shop sits inside of a hotel which make them gouge the coffee prices. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else unless you want to pay 8 bucks for a cold brew and 7 for a latte. Those prices are insane.
