Mad Hatter Doughnuts

This isn't a "doughnut" shop. The name of the place is misleading. If you are thinking of a local donut joint, this ain't it. Hole in the wall selling funnel cake batter mini donuts. Ours came out lukewarm at best. Standard fare. Below average. They have a larger variety of choice of ice cream and beverages. Without the Old Scramento tourist vibes and foot traffic, this place would be out of business. Don't fall for the corner location and the crowd in front (who also fell for the misleading sign).

The owner was friendly and he recommended my new favourite ice cream: birthday cake!!! Amazing!!! Highly recommend!!! My husband tried his other recommendation of butter trickle ice cream. Delicious!! The waffle cones are scrumptious.

We highly recommend Mad Hatter Dougnuts! First of all, their donuts are outstanding. They're like a light, fluffy funnel cake in donut form. The glaze and cinnamon-sugar toppings are the best. They also have excellent coffee and hot chocolate. We had a group of 35 that stopped by for treats, and they were very accomodating in getting our order down and correct (our folks were coming in with our orders as they were able, so it was a stream of orders rather than a simple concise order). The two gentlemen behind the counter were very nice and helped us tremendously. We'd stop by again if we're ever in the area, for sure!

This is a walk up window not a business you enter. We had to try the mini donuts, we got chocolate over top of ours. They are so good. Must try. We will go back next visit!!

SUPER friendly and kind staff. Very generous! And the fresh squeezed lemonade and ice cream hit the spot for sure!
