We are in town for the Birmingham Bowl and stopped in for some coffee and breakfast before the game. Prices were very reasonable. Drinks were pretty good. Food was just ok. We got a chocolate muffin and a bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was toasted to the point it was hard as a rock. Very hard to bite/chew. Otherwise it was a decent bagel. Might just need to ask them to not toast it that long. The muffin was super dry and crumbly. Didn't realize when we bought it that it was a mint chocolate muffin. The taste was pretty good. I did like the bit of mint in there. Just would have liked it to be a bit more moist personally.
I tried the guava hibiscus smoothie and i can only say "HEAVENLY" I suggest this beverage. Its not too sweet, its just right. 4 stars is just so Santos doesnt boast and relax but inwardly, its a 5 star and will return. 😂🥰
Love the decor and the lady in the register was very friendly. I double checked with her that I said iced coffee(sometimes I forget). She said yes. When my name was called it was hot. I politely told the barista that it was suppose to be iced. She huffed looked at her computer screen with the orders and then slammed the ice box open put some ice in and proceeded to dump my pipping hot coffee into the cup. She handed it back without a word. The plastic cup was still hot to the touch and before I sat down the ice was already gone. I had to get another cup of ice and poor what I could fit in. I came for a much needed break and what I got was a cup full of rudeness.
I traveled from Memphis, TN to Birmingham, AL to get away. I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. I did not have a good experience at the breakfast spot inside the Sheraton. I googled the closet breakfast spot and Santos showed up. I went and had the best experience. The young lady that took my order answered all my questions regarding what to order. My order was placed, it didn't take long to get my order and my food was hot. I sat inside and ate and enjoyed the atmosphere.
Stopped into Santos Coffee & Bar Uptown for a quick breakfast snack while attending a convention at the BJCC, and it was a nice little find. I grabbed the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant — it was good, warm, and hit the spot, though not the best I’ve had. What really stood out, though, was the strawberry smoothie — excellent flavor, refreshing, and made just right. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and need a quick boost. Friendly staff, good vibe, and a convenient spot to escape the convention bustle for a few minutes. Solid 4 out of 5 stars from me — and I’d go back for that smoothie alone.
