Nordstrom Espresso Bar
828 W Main Ave, Spokane, WA
Crema's Take
“This airport-adjacent espresso bar has the bones of a solid specialty operation with a genuine focus on quality espresso drinks, but it's consistently let down by inconsistent and surprisingly hostile service that leaves customers feeling more frustrated than caffeinated. While you'll occasionally find a genuinely warm barista who makes the experience worthwhile, too many visits end in eye-rolls, misremembered orders, and drinks handed over with careless indifference. If you're grabbing a quick espresso in Spokane and catch the right person behind the bar, you might get something special—but the odds feel stacked against you.”

The barista was unfriendly and seemed annoyed to be helping customers. My drink was handed to me with the lid not properly secured, so coffee was spilling down the cup. On top of that, the tea bag inside was ripped, leaving loose tea floating everywhere. I expect a basic level of care and professionalism when I’m paying for a drink especially something so simple. I hope management addresses this, because the experience definitely made me reconsider coming back.
The barista here was unbelievably rude. I asked one simple question and got eye-rolls, attitude, and the feeling that serving customers was a burden. The whole interaction was nasty and unprofessional. Brunette working closing on Sunday’s needs to be fired or get better training. Place should seriously look into hiring someone better than her.
Whoever worked closing on Sunday sucks. Incredibly rude and zero professionalism, if you’d rather be anywhere else then, go and stop ruining everyone’s experience when they order something and you have to do your job. Some people are not meant to be in customer service and this girl is one of them.
I hesitate to give only one star because one server was very good - friendly, helpful and accommodating - but the other was so bad that it really dampened the whole experience. The 6 of us ordered coffee and the young female server was cold and downright surly in her treatment of us - like she’d rather be anywhere but there. She was scowling, eye rolling and sighing about everything. My coffee that she made was lukewarm so I took it back and the gentleman remade it with a smile and a great attitude. She walked over and asked him what was wrong and when he told her, she glared and walked away. She was short and rude to my daughters. This is NOT a good reflection on the standards of Nordstrom!
So rude and not accommodating!! If I could I’d give them half a star!! I spend $18 for 2 drinks. I only buy Carmel lattes everywhere I go and they gave me a chocolate mocha. I went back to let them know and they didn’t care at all told me to leave. I will never return here again.
