Crema's Take

Gateway Cafe trades in spectacular views and leisurely afternoons, with an open-air balcony that locals rave about as a destination in itself. The vibe here leans toward relaxed gathering—whether you're lingering over coffee and pastries, grabbing light lunch before a park walk, or catching up with friends—though the service can be a bit inconsistent depending on when you visit.

Great atmosphere, food and prices are good and the best views right by the open outdoor balcony sitting areas!

If you don't cook your burgers well done you should ask how we want them prepared! I don't eat pink hamburgers, fail #1! You send me with an order device but don't attached the number. So I am waiting for a meal that's not going to come. Fail #2. The meal arrives with no chips when I asked for them. Fail #3. Everything about my experience was unfortunate today! Even my chai tasted more like a ginger drink than chai. I do like ginger, so that wasn't a total loss. But I only ate the one bites from my burger! Buyer beware: if you order a burger be sure to clarify how they are going to serve it

Had lunch before our walk around the park, then went back for ice cream and popsicles afterward. Food was good, staff was friendly, place was clean, views out the windows are great. Ordering and receiving can be a bit confusing and inefficient, as orders are placed kind of in the middle of the counter, food (that is, any ordered from the menu, not pre-made cold stuff out of the refrigerated case in front of the counter) is delivered at one end, but the coffee/ specialty drinks are sort of their own separate thing at the other end of the counter. Not terrible, just a little chaotic and traffic jam inducing at busy times. Would definitely go again if I have the chance.
