Area Four Cafe | One Kendall Square

Cambridge, Cambridge, MA

Crema's Take

Tucked into One Kendall Square, Area Four is an espresso-focused spot that's equally serious about their matcha and loose-leaf teas, with baristas who clearly care about getting the drinks right. The vibe strikes a nice balance between productivity hub and genuinely welcoming café, complete with cozy indoor seating and a courtyard for soaking up fresh air while you work or meet a friend. Just come for the coffee and tea—skip the food—and you'll find a reliable neighborhood favorite with comfortable spots that feel made for lingering.

A nice cafe in the Kendall Square area! The matcha was tasty and the baristas were super sweet. They have a few tables inside, and there’s more seating out in the courtyard. It’s a very convenient spot for your morning coffee if you work at one of the offices in the area.

The matcha was great but staff was talking so loud amongst each other , the entire cafe had to listen to her story about partying at the club. Once I politely told them how loud they were, no apology just a “ okay” and continue to talk extremely loud.

My favorite coffee place while painting my new mural here. Surprisingly good coffee and friendly staff!

Nice cafe perfectly located for people working in the neighborhood. Not too many seats, but the ones that are there are comfortable. I had a black earl grey tea (leafs), that was delicious. Be careful when you talk about business ideas. Everybody here is a life science person.

Good for coffee, but avoid the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. Not very good. Couldn’t even finish it. Feels like they just through a fake egg on a warm undercooked processed sausage Pattie. You could do a lot better with minimal effort. Besides that, great coffee place!!
