Bluetree Cafe - Honolulu
1009 Kapiolani Blvd, Honolulu, HI
Crema's Take
“Bluetree Cafe draws regulars with its creative signature drinks like the Purple Cloud Ube Latte and silky cold foam lattes that taste anything but burnt, making it a favorite spot to linger with your laptop in Honolulu. The real heart of this place is Liliana and the team's genuine hospitality—reviewers consistently praise their attentiveness and detail-oriented service that makes you feel genuinely welcomed, though the kitchen has had some inconsistent moments worth noting.”

Purple cloud (Ube) Latte was tasty and unique. Best coffee drink I had on the island.
Update: Hands down one of my fav locations to grab a snack and drink. Liliana's customer service is on point. She is friendly and attentive eith attebtion to detail. Love this location for working and enjoying a quick bite/drink. The service each time I have been has been mostly friendly. The oat bites are delicious and the hojicha drink is 🔥. There is parking in the building that is designated for the location.
I recently tried a vanilla cold foam latte from Bluetree cafe. The barista made it perfectly- it didn’t taste bitter or burnt- and the cold foam was really yummy. I also appreciate that the Bluetree cafe is dog friendly, with plenty of space to sit inside or outside.
I ordered an avocado toast and a smoothie, but the avocado toast was completely soaked in vinegar. She poured way too much vinegar on the toast. The bread had absorbed the balsamic vinegar and was black and inedible — so disappointing. My avocado toast was clearly made wrong compared to the photos of their previous ones. I felt like it was done on purpose. I used to enjoy their coffee, which is actually quite good, so I decided to try their sandwiches for lunch — but I don’t think I’ll be ordering their sandwiches again.
I've been going here regularly for about 6 months now and it just seems to be getting worse. I think today was my last visit, at least for a while. I'm not sure the exact cause of today's debacle, but the previously quick and delicious service was replaced with two sad excuses for food and flavorless foamed milks. The menu said they were out of smoothies, but our acai bowl would beg to differ. It receives 3 stars for my fond memories. If this trend continues, then it is fitting of less
