Caviar & Bananas
170 Ashley Ave, Charleston, SC
Crema's Take
“Caviar & Bananas on Ashley Street is a genuine neighborhood gathering spot where the staff—like CJ and Elizabeth—treat regulars and first-timers alike with infectious warmth and attentiveness that goes well beyond typical coffee shop service. Beyond solid specialty and traditional drinks, this place shines as a casual meeting hub with inviting courtyard and balcony seating, making it the kind of spot where medical students and locals alike find themselves returning multiple times a week. The combination of quality food, thoughtful service, and a palpable sense of community creates an atmosphere that feels less like a transaction and more like being welcomed into someone's favorite place.”

Great experience at Caviar & Bananas on Ashley Street! CJ and Elizabeth were fantastic — incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. They made us feel truly welcomed and appreciated. Excellent service like this keeps us coming back. Highly recommend!
Genuinely one of the best places I have ever gone to get coffee/food in a really long time. I'm there 1-3 times a week, and everyone there is so kind and welcoming. Food and drinks are almost always ready within 5 minutes, even if the building is busy and crammed. Elizabeth and CJ are almost always the ones taking my drink order, and they have been nothing but incredibly kind, hardworking, and quick when it comes to my order. As well, although it's the same menu, this location (compared to the George St one) is far superior. I will always choose to get Caviar and Bananas when I'm downtown because of them
This group is amazing! I can ALWAYS depend on quality food, timely delivery and above and beyond exceptional customer service. I never hesitate to contact them when I have an event.
Deli style sandwich shop with nice seating area in a courtyard, on a balcony overlooking the street and inside above the store. Convenient location right across the street from the Medical Center. Highly recommended.
First time dropping by this location. Very much more of a neighborhood spot/hub for medicial students than the location downtown, customers and staff very familiar with one another. Line was pouring out of the restaurant, but we made it to the counter and left with our food in the span of 15-20 minutes. Employees at the register, and behind the bar very knowledgeable about items and answered all allergy questions! . Definitely going back to try more next time we are in the area
