Crema's Take
“This beloved Raleigh spot perfectly marries espresso craftsmanship with curate bookshop browsing, creating an ideal third space where you can linger over a meticulously pulled shot and get lost in the stacks. Owners Bre and Hannah have cultivated such genuine warmth that regulars rave about the welcoming energy the moment you walk in, making it as much about community as it is about their top-tier coffee and pastries. Whether you're settling in with your laptop for an afternoon or treating yourself to a book after your drink, Blackbird feels like the kind of place that gets what specialty coffee lovers actually want.”

Such a cute welcoming coffeeshop. Books and coffee definitely makes a great combo. Our coffee was great as well.
Easilyyyyy my fav local business. The good feeling and welcoming vibes that Bre and Hannah create, you feel it the second you walk through the door! They have passion for what they do and what they've created. They have an amazing, thoughtfully curated collection of books with great variety to choose from so there's something for everyone. Their coffee is top notch. It's my favorite coffee in Raleigh! Also delicious baked goods. Fun trinkets, tarot cards, art, book accessories & more. Think cute and cozy vibes. They have fun, inclusive events every month and the love they have for their store and customers radiates, they want people to have a positive experience. They do punch cards so you can earn a free coffee and a free little library outside the front door ensuring everyone has access to books! I love Blackbird Books & Coffee!! Whether you live in Raleigh or you're just visiting, make sure you don't miss out on it :)
I keep trying to write a review that encapsulates how wonderful Blackbird is but nothing is good enough! Their curated selection is top-tier, the drinks are delicious, and the owners are so unbelievably kind. Everyone is eager to help you find that just-right read and strike up a conversation about their favorite books. Blackbird is a safe, special place for all, and Raleigh is lucky to have them!!! For mobility aid users - There is a small step in the very front of the store, but Blackbird has provided a small ramp that sits outside to assist with entry. It does occasionally need to be shuffled closer to the door if debris is behind it like leaves, etc. but once you're in, the space is fully accessible!
There’s something so beautiful about being able to go to a coffee shop and work and then treat myself to a book at the end. The coffee was amazing as well as their vegan biscuit. And then it was such a pleasure to shop for a book because it’s such a clean and easy shop.
Blackbird is a super cute artsy book store/coffee shop that soft opened just one week ago, and will have a grand opening next week. They make a great americano, caramel macchiato, and hot chocolate, and have an awesome playlist. It’s already great with the coffee, but, then, there are books -from bestsellers to lesser known, their book offerings consist of all genres. They also have their own notebooks, coffee mugs, some pretty cool jewelry, and mental health/self care merchandise. I’m a super fan from my first visit, and will visit every time I’m in Raleigh. Visit this charming bookstore/coffee shop and support small local business and the arts!
