Val's Workshop
200 S San Francisco St, Flagstaff, AZ
Crema's Take
“Val's Workshop strikes that rare balance between serious espresso craft and genuinely welcoming vibes, with baristas who seem to actually care about each drink they pull and the people ordering them. The space itself is thoughtfully designed for lingering—high work counters and a relaxed layout that's made it a beloved study and meeting spot for locals—while their specialty drinks, especially their standout chai, prove they're just as committed to non-coffee creations. There's an understated warmth here that keeps people coming back, whether you're passing through Flagstaff or making it your regular third place.”

I wish I had gotten her name. The barista who made our drinks was so nice. We went here while traveling and it was so good. My boyfriend says this was the best chai he’s ever had. I packed some Yerba mate and was hoping to just get some hot water and hot milk with honey to make my own tea. The girl helping us out offered to make it for me. She read the instructions for my tea. It was so sweet. I’ve never been at a coffee shop that’s been that accommodating and kind. Definitely coming back here when I’m flagstaff.
Cute place to have a beverage and relax. Quiet. Nice quick service.
Val’s now charges an automatic 20% to any coffee order instead of having the option to tip. I am all for tipping my barista/server, and do so when the service positively adds to the overall experience. I am by no means saying the servers at Val’s do not deserve a tip or the extra 20%, but it should be at the discretion of the customer, not mandatory and enforced by the business. Will not be returning due to this factor and will take my business to Lund where they offer student, military and first responder discounts.
This is our go to work/study spot. The high bar and work chairs and general layout is very relaxing. Coffee/tea always good.
Great local spot that I’d be in all the time if I lived in Flagstaff. Good, flavorful iced latte, and they made it in my insulated cup, which I appreciate. The barista was friendly and efficient. They have at least three seating sections: the front, work area which was quiet and comfortable in a weekday morning and feels like a good workspace, the salon on the left with pretty reasonable prices for hair services, and a game room on the right. They maximize their space with a small, shady outdoor strip along the right side of the building.
