Crema's Take

This espresso-focused roastery in historic downtown Champaign has earned its loyal following through meticulous craft—their white chocolate mochas and caramel lattes showcase a real commitment to quality that keeps customers coming back despite the intentionally slower pace. The space welcomes everyone from remote workers to dog companions to authors scouting for photo shoots, creating a genuinely community-oriented vibe where fresh pastries and carefully pulled shots pair perfectly with the kind of attention that makes you want to linger.

It can be a bit on the slow side but they are slow because they are busy with orders because they are delicious. I like the white chocolate mochas; hot. I wish they had more baked items throughout the day but It is because they run out before I get their because it is delicious. The atmosphere is bright and nice to look at. I wonder if they (Coffee Hound) are interested in any new art pieces for their walls? I know a guy that would be good for the job. 😁

It's not easy for me to write this review of Coffee Hound in Bloomington. On the one hand, it's a very nice and popular place, and you can immediately see that visitors enjoy it. Inside, it feels like a creative hub with exhibits of local artists’ works — something that really resonates with me. I genuinely appreciate this kind of collaboration between coffee shops and the art community. I also noticed the traditional stylish ceiling, which is typical of many cafés in older buildings. The coffee itself was good, with an original and rich flavor. However, I was surprised that the shop doesn’t offer the option to have coffee in ceramic or glass cups — something I personally value when drinking coffee on-site. I also liked the girl who took my order. Despite it being a weekday morning, the place was full of people. However, despite its popularity — which naturally suggests the establishment is doing well with profit — I was disappointed by the restroom area. In today’s world, I feel that such spaces should be as fresh renovated and well-maintained as possible. I understand that this is my personal, subjective opinion, but still, it influenced my overall impression. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning here.

PUMPKINQUEST 2025 CONTINUES! I am in search of the most yummy sessonal goodies in the area. Todays travels took us to historic downtown Bloomington to a favorite watering hole, The Coffee Hound on Main Street. Famous for their amazing coffee, teas and homemade baked goods, today's search was for the ellusive Pumpkin Spice Latte with real pumpkin! I ordered an iced Pumpkin Spice Latte with an extra shot for a midafternoon pick me up. My friend ordered a loaded hot chocolate that he pronounced, "Yummy." My drink arrived with a perfect mix of espresso, pumpkin, spices and cream. It was delicious! I eyed the pumpkin cake bars but was too full from lunch. Will have to wait on that for next time. Staff as always, friendly and helpful. I love the charming ambiance with this location. The original artwork on the wall and the unique historic vibe are so fun and relaxing. If you need to get your coffee, tea or pumpkin fix on, this is the place. I highly recommend the Coffee Hound on Main. Kate the Artist

An author friend of mine and I were doing some photos downtown recently. To our surprise and delight, we stopped in for a coffee and they allowed us to snap a few photos inside! We love how they turned out!

I stopped by during the farmers market, so it was super busy but staff was keeping a steady pace. The caramel latte was creamy and smooth. The pastries are amazing, really fresh with a lot of flavor. I wouldn’t order a chocolate croissant again, the entire middle was an air hole.
