Rajaji Fine Indian Cuisine
2603 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC
Crema's Take
“I appreciate your interest, but I should let you know that Rajaji Fine Indian Cuisine is an Indian restaurant, not a coffee shop. Crema specializes in discovering specialty coffee destinations, so this particular venue wouldn't be a fit for our app's focus. That said, if they serve exceptional traditional Indian chai or coffee drinks alongside their acclaimed buffet, that could be worth exploring—but based on the available information, their reputation is built on their fresh, flavorful Indian cuisine and warm hospitality rather than coffee expertise.”

Came here with my friends for Valentine’s Day and they had a lunch buffet with a great variety of options. My friend is vegetarian and there were a lot of options for him as well. The dessert was amazing and the staff was attentive and friendly. This Indian restaurant is a great choice in the Woodley Park area.
When a restaurant contacts me, & is super confident in their food…I’ll pull up!! That’s what these folks did, & guess what? I’m glad they did!! So we got some Indian cuisine that runs a buffet on the weekends. Let’s GO!! *Oh my son says I’m too loud, so I got quiet in here 😂* . Where I am: @rajajidc . Location Reviewed: 2603 Connecticut Ave., N.W. Washington D.C. . Items Reviewed: STAMP!! Their Drinks ($3.50 for their virgin Shirley Temple, & $3.95 for their Sweet Lassi yogurt drink). The Temple…hit!! Fruity with bubbles!! The sweet Lassi was actually a tad sour…DECENT. STAMP!! Their Palak Chat ($7.95 with crunchy baby spinach, tomato, & onions in a yogurt, & tamarind sauce). I couldn’t believe I liked this!! I want my spinach crunchy like this ALL the time…flavorful, & tasty!! STAMP!! Their Tandoori Shrimp ($22.95 with 7 large Tandoori sliced shrimp, onions, herbs, tamarind, & green chutney sauce). Sizzling hot, well spiced, no need to dip, but if you do…both sauces HIT!! LIKE THAT!! Their Samosas ($6.95 fried pastries with curry spiced potatoes, & green peas). Packed with potatoes, & peas, & definitely full of flavor!! STAMP!! Their Paneer Pakora ($7.95 breaded, & fried dense Indian cottage cheese). A crisp nicely flavored batter, an almost snapping warm cheese, dipped in that tamarind is a whole YES!! STAMP!! Their Chili Chicken ($16.95 with diced chicken thighs in a firey sauce with green chili, onions, peppers, garlic, & soy sauce). DELICIOUS. Their Garlic Naan ($4 garlicky Indian flatbread). I had to compare this to Naan I’ve had before…I needed more seasoning on this bread. STAMP!! Their Chicken Tikka Masala ($19.95 with chicken breast simmered in a curry tomato based sauce). I could drink this!! It was that good…GET IT…that’s it!! . Customer Service: On Point . Parking: Rough. . Recommendations: A sleeper restaurant!! Get here!! . Accessibility: It’s wheelchair friendly, & it’s differently abled persons friendly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=STAMP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️➕=LIKE THAT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=DELICIOUS ⭐️⭐️⭐️=DECENT ⭐️⭐️=PASS ⭐️=NAH #Bigschlimsreviews
This place is clearly better than 4.1 stars - new management has done an awesome job. Buffet lunch is an incredible value, food is fresh and flavorful. The butter naan comes out hot and airy - I ate it so fast I forgot to get a picture. Service is attentive and appreciative for your business. Disappointing that I’m traveling and can’t go here more often.
I had an excellent bottomless brunch with friends, enjoying the delicious buffet. There was great variety of food to try. I especially loved the paneer dishes. They kept bringing out warm baskets of delicious naan to my friends and me — a dream come true! The service is great and the $17.99 all you can eat deal is too good to miss out on.
I had dinner at Raja Ji Curry House last night and it was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. The food is incredibly authentic — rich flavors, perfectly balanced spices, and cooked with obvious care. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the portions were very generous. This restaurant truly feels like a hidden gem. The lentil soup was comforting and full of flavor, the chicken curry was tender and aromatic, and the garlic naan was warm and fresh from the oven. It’s clear they put pride into every dish. If you’re looking for excellent Indian food, look no further — this place is a must-visit. Whether you’re already a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Raja Ji Curry House delivers on every level. I can’t recommend it enough!
