This review is long overdue as I thought I reviewed them back when I visited them the first or second time! My boyfriend and I have stopped by here for coffee and breakfast sandwiches twice before this recent visit and let me tell you that they always taste amazing! We came here again as BECU is currently hosting an event where they let you enjoy a free drink on them and Campfire Coffee was one of the businesses that is participating! It's been a while since we stopped by so we decided to stop by again. I saw on Yelp that dogs were allowed but they are not, however they do offer a generous pup cup! I was greeted by an female employee and she was very professional, kind and patient as I was trying to decide what to get. She also showed that same positive attitude and mannerism with the customers ahead of me as well. The interior is so cozy and they even have a campfire set up which is great for photo ops or just to hang out at. Additionally, they have a corner with shelves of different things to enjoy while you're there too! I went ahead and got one of their seasonal specials: Grandma's Cabin Energy with light ice and my boyfriend got their Peppermint Mocha. I appreciate that she asked me to make sure I liked it before I left but she nailed it, all the flavors came through and it was the right amount of ice! The drink was so good that I forgot to take a picture! Love that they don't upcharge on flavors especially when a lot of other coffee shops do. We also had a conversation about how they have different seasonal menus and look forward making more creative drinks in the future. So glad to see that they are still making fantastic drinks, have stellar service, and offer unique drinks and food/treats.
Went in this morning and ordered a vanilla latte and a hot cocoa. Absolute garbage. The hot cocoa was barely lukewarm and tasted like dirty dishwater, and the latte was straight-up water with a whisper of vanilla. I had to repeat my order three times, which should’ve been my cue to walk out. Neither of us took more than a sip—both went straight to the trash. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. note to owner: I appreciate you reaching out and the apology. I was also on my way out and had places to be, so stopping to give in-the-moment feedback /training your employees wasn’t an option. As a customer, it isn’t my responsibility to train or coach staff, and many people aren’t comfortable addressing issues at the counter. Public reviews exist to share honest experiences after the fact. There’s no need to process a refund. I’m comfortable standing by the review
The coffee here is really good. Beans are roasted over a fire of PNW woods, so unique and also a very nice roast. I love their beans! I buy from them regularly and highly recommend. The coffee shop is more industrial--typical for the area--just not quite as cozy as some, but they have a few tables if you want to dine in. Staff are warm and friendly, service is great. Always like supporting small business owners, and this product is actually quite good.
☕ What a cute and cozy spot! 😊 I loved the decor, you definitely get a nature vibe while you're in there. I also very much appreciated the book selection they had. I ordered a almond hazelnut cold brew which was delicious. I also purchased one of their hot cocoa mixes which I'm very much looking forward to trying. I will definitely visit again 🏕️
Campfire Coffee is a must-visit when you’re in Tacoma. The decor is so detailed and makes you feel like you’re camping in a national park. The coffee was delicious and I loved the seasonal options. The staff was welcoming and added to the comfortable, cozy feeling of the shop. As a fan of rustic and nature-inspired decor, Campfire gives me so much joy. It’s always great to find a Black-owned coffee shop and I can’t wait until I’m able to return.
