Crema's Take
“This Pittsburgh espresso haven has earned its stellar reputation by doing the fundamentals right: genuinely warm staff, meticulously crafted drinks, and a inviting porch that turns casual coffee runs into reasons to linger. The thoughtful touches—from the care poured into each shot to curating local artist goods alongside your cup—create the kind of neighborhood spot that naturally becomes part of your weekly rhythm. It's where you can taste the difference between a coffee made with love and one made with indifference.”

I can’t say enough good things about 802 Bean Company. It’s the kind of place that quickly becomes part of your daily routine. The staff and management are genuinely friendly — not the forced kind, but the kind that remembers your order and asks how your day’s going. It makes grabbing coffee feel a little more personal and a lot more enjoyable. They’ve got a great variety of drinks too. Whether you’re in the mood for a hot coffee, something iced, or an espresso-based drink, there are plenty of options to choose from. Everything I’ve tried has been consistently good. The prices are very reasonable, especially if you’re stopping in regularly for your morning coffee. It’s refreshing to find a place where quality doesn’t mean overpriced. They also have a solid breakfast selection with options that work for just about anyone — whether you want something quick and light or something more filling to start your day. Overall, it’s just a great local spot with good people, good coffee, and a welcoming vibe that keeps you coming back.
The place was clean and the atmosphere was really nice. The drink was good, and I especially loved the porch area. The welcome wasn’t very warm but not bad either. I plan to visit again and update my review after my second experience. I have visited this place three more times, and unfortunately I noticed a clear difference in how customers are treated. The friendliness and attitude of the staff seem to change depending on the person. In my last visits, no one even greeted me, while many other customers were warmly welcomed. The atmosphere and the taste are good, but for me, customer service is more important than both. Because of this experience, I don’t think I will be coming back again.
I wish I could like this place a bit more than I do. It felt like more wanted to come out than what did. It felt like there was a lot of life waiting for its time to come out. Every aspect of this place felt like it was holding out. The coffee could say more, the furniture be more daring, the menu and baristas more experimental. I would love to see that energy come out. As for now its about all this cafe can offer. It could be, but isn't fantastic.
The is an amazing coffee shop. All the coffee and treats I have gotten here were amazing, and they sell other things made by local artists which is great! They have lots of cozy seating inside and a great patio behind the store. The staff are always nice and I’ve never had to wait long. Overall it has a great atmosphere and even better food and drink!
Always love coming here. The coffee is made with great care and tastes so much better than any chain coffee I've had. You can tell they put love into their coffee, and they love their customers, too. Food is good, we had the breakfast sandwiches. Coffee tastes wonderful and wakes you right up. They have options for non-coffee drinkers. They also have extra items such as mugs and shirts that you can purchase. Currently loving my new shirt! Thanks for the great service! We'll be back soon.
