Lowpoint Coffee

3700 St Claude Ave, New Orleans, LA

Crema's Take

Tucked into a charming basement location in a quiet New Orleans neighborhood, Lowpoint is a deliberate slow-coffee sanctuary where espresso craftsmanship takes center stage and lingering over a macchiato (or ravioli Monday with live music) is the whole point. The tiny, plant-filled space welcomes dogs and families alike, pairing those carefully pulled shots with genuinely excellent pastries and light food that locals rave about, though be warned that wifi and speed aren't priorities here—this is a place to settle in and be present. It's exactly the kind of gem you'd walk right past if not for a friend's recommendation, but once you find it, you'll understand why regulars keep coming back.

Good, quality espresso drinks. Generally slow service & wifi—not great if you’re on the go, or trying to get computer work done. Looking forward to more ambience as they settle into the new location, currently lacking much coziness.

What a cute little gem! I really enjoyed Ravioli Monday with live music. The place is teeny but we sat comfortably even with our dogs one time! The food is really fantastic and the coffees are good too. It gets a little warm in there so dress appropriately in the summer!

This is a little gem tucked into a neighborhood. My husband was hunting down good coffee and he loved the macchiato he got here. I got a great toasted bagel, but also I’m here for anyone who sells a homemade mint cosmic brownie before 11 am!

Extremely vibey coffee shop and cafe that you'd easily otherwise miss given its basement location and plant-based exterior camouflage. Pop in for a breakfast plate, a pastry and some fantastic coffee. Well worth a walk through Bywater to reach it.

The low point was the high point of our morning walk. I didn't know what I wanted, so the snack plate with crackers was ideal. Both our coffees had just enough kick to get us home. Having a slice of beet in a sandwich reminded us of summer in Auckland NZ.
