Crema's Take

Formoosa is a beloved Convoy District gem that brilliantly marries Taiwanese tea culture with exceptional comfort food, earning passionate praise for its generous portions and standout dishes like the massive beef noodle soup and crispy beef rolls. The warm, family-friendly atmosphere is anchored by genuinely attentive staff (regulars rave about hosts like Nina and Aiden), making it the kind of place where you'll linger over a perfectly crafted peach milk tea as much for the hospitality as the beautifully balanced flavors. Whether you're craving traditional slow-sipped specialty drinks or seeking a spacious spot to gather with loved ones over shareable plates, this is where the care in preparation and service feels personal.

We ordered the cucumber salad, chili wontons, and dry noodles. The cucumber salad was very fresh and the sauce was light and tangy. The chili wontons were okay, missing spice! But the wrapper and filling ratio was good. The noodles were very creamy and delicious! Will be coming back next time we’re in town.

The beef soup is massive! Like might even be good for 3 if you’re ordering other food! Beef roll was great as well! Order the peach milktea drink too! Shoutout to Nina for being a great host!

Great service and Aiden is very friendly. Food portions are quite large, so my wife and I shared everything. We ordered Pork Over Rice , Popcorm CHicken, and Beef Roll. My favorite was the Pork Over Rice, it was delicious. The other two dishes were good but not to the standard of authentic Taiwanese. Overall a pleasant experience. Oh by the way the non-alcoholic drinks were very good.

Formoosa offers great selection and quality dishes. We enjoyed the crispy beef roll (see picture). It had delicious sauce and crunchy pickled veggies and the beef was perfectly seasoned. We also enjoyed the beef noodle soup and and pork on wavy noddles. Both had great flavors and large portions for the price. Brandon and Nina were awesome, quick, friendly, and attentive during our visit!

This is a great little show in the Convoy District. I ordered the Chili wontons, scallion pancake and the house special beef noodle soup. The chili wontons were perhaps the best I have ever had. The flavor was very elevated and it was a perfect appetizer. The scallion pancake was also good. Yeah, just the right amount of spice and was very easily shareable. The house special beef noodle soup was also a fantastic. A little spicy but in a great way. The noodles were great but you can also order wavy noodles which are a unique option. But the beef was super tender and it was very filling. Kind of enough for two people. Overall, this is a great restaurant. The only problem would be parking in this area which is always tough, but I would still highly recommend it.
