Spot of Tea - Georgetown
3210 Grace St NW, Washington, DC
Crema's Take
“Tucked into Georgetown, this tea-focused café excels at creative milk tea combinations like their signature blue jasmine and vanilla taro with ube sea salt cold foam, where quality shines through in freshly brewed tea and perfectly textured boba. The space doubles as a relaxed study spot and meeting destination with genuinely accommodating staff, though opinions on their matcha offerings are mixed. What sets it apart in DC's boba landscape is their commitment to real tea and real fruit rather than shortcuts, paired with reasonable Georgetown pricing that feels like a genuine find.”

The blue jasmine milk tea (50% sweet) was delicious. It had a nice fresh taste to it The vanilla taro with ube sea salt cold foam (50% sweet) was definitely more of a dessert tea, but the flavors blended so well!
This was a spot on our list that we wanted to try while in DC. My boyfriend and I stopped in a few minutes before opening and we studied the menu to decide what we wanted. I got an iced coffee milk tea and he got an iced vanilla taro milk tea. The guy working the counter gave us brown sugar boba on the house because it wasn't showing up on the tablet when we ordered. We also both got the salted vanilla ube oatmilk cold foam...so freaking good, I will have dreams about it. The drinks were both so good and the service was super friendly. I wish there was one in NC. One of my top favorite bubble tea spots for sure!
Service was good, but drinks weren't good. Very overhyped and tired of influencers lying about matcha places being good when they aren't. My best friend and I got the strawberry matcha, taro matcha and thai blossom iced. The strawberries on the strawberry matcha were too sour. Taro matcha was powdery and could barely taste the taro. It's more of a pandan taste, which I wouldn't mind but you could barely taste it. The thai blossom tea was very bland. Tea was oversteeped and could barely taste it. All of the drinks were bland and too watery. This place has potential and a cute aesthetic, but the drinks aren't worth coming back for.
Great bubble tea and a pretty reasonable price for Georgetown. Staff were very kind and flexible with my order so I was appreciative. Highly recommend if you like bubble tea. Also a cool cafe and restaurant in the same building!
Spot of tea of one of the few boba shops in the DC with real tea and real fruit. The drinks are unique, tasty, and not too sweet. Boba is always cooked to perfection and has a great texture. Owners and staff are very friendly and make an effort to know their customer base too. Great option for dairy -free people.
