Crema's Take
“This Monterey gem shines brightest for its thoughtfully crafted seasonal drinks and exceptional pastries that locals return to weekly, from ginger scones to berry strudels that are as beautiful as they are delicious. The kitchen elevates simple breakfast fare into something special—think perfectly executed avocado toast and salmon toast alongside creative lattes like seasonal lemon and raspberry—making it the kind of place where you'll want to linger, share everything family-style, and discover your new favorite order. It's refreshingly unpretentious despite the quality, a neighborhood spot that lets the food speak for itself rather than relying on flash.”

One of the best bakeries for breakfast I’ve had in awhile! The seasonal lemon and raspberry latte was very pleasant to drink, not overly sweet and was a flavor that I’ve not normally seen for a latte. The maple bacon swirl wasn’t too heavy either, and while i did quite enjoy the savory bun, but there was just a bit too much finishing salt for me on parts of the outer bun. There was about a 7-minute queue out the door when we arrived, but it was worth the wait, and i would love to come back and try some of their other offerings
We had a few toasts, the avocado toast and an incredible salmon toast. Both were as beautiful as they were delicious. We also got a lot of pastries. The ginger scone was especially good. We also had the pistachio rose croissant, the cinnamon swirl with whipped cream, a ham and cheese croissant, maple bacon crossing and the blackberry donut which is hands down the best donut I've eaten in my life. My husband says this is the best bakery he's ever been to, including ones in Paris. Absolutely delicious. Also the staff was great. It had been raining and someone helped us out by drying off an outdoor table for us.
So the photos are from multiple visits. My girls and I love this place. we come weekly ish and just order random stuff that looks tasty and then we share everything. I will say some of our favorites are the Earl Grey mousse, Fruit Danish, Bacon Leak Quiche, Pastaicho Roll and there drinks. honestly never had anything bad. the girls always get the avocado toast not pictured. and love it. I suggest trying everything really its just that good. Also the staff is amazing! They never get frustrated with our craziness and the place is doggo friendly 10 outta 10 recommend ohhhh wait the Lavender mousse when they have it is to die for!!
I passed this place many times because it doesn't really stick out to say hey. "Look at me taste our food." I bought the Blueberry Muffin and Berry Strudel or as I call it, a large croissant with lots of encrusted sugar on top with berries in the middle. The strangest Strudel I've ever had and I've been to Germany. Both items were clearly overpriced and underwhelming for what they were in the end. The Blueberry Muffin was marginal and that's being nice. I was not impressed, as I've had better muffins, this Muffin had no flavor at all and was very dry. The Blueberries were the moist part and the star of this show. The Strudel became a floppy mess after joining Earth's gravity and thank goodness I wasn't wearing a White shirt in the eating process. Nothing special overall with this concoction. The store is inviting and the food looks well presented but This bakery is quite overpriced for the food. The staff is not the most inviting and that's a big deal when entering a place. Parking sucks, this place is in one of the busiest areas in Monterey and I found parking by chance over 2 blocks away. That's probably why I've haven't been there before. I found their food and drinks more for Adults and taking kids would probably be too pricey as Donuts were about 6 bucks a piece. I didn't crave their food after eating it and I won't be back.
Cute spot with delicious food! The line goes relatively quickly. My mom and I shared the white bean and bacon soup and the Reuben croissant sandwich which were amazing! The obligatory gingerbread latte was delicious and not too sweet. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious and soft with crispy edges. I wasn’t so crazy about the carrot cake cookie since it’s lacking some spices in my opinion.
