Crepes of Brittany
211 Alvarado St, Monterey, CA
Crema's Take
“Crepes of Brittany captures authentic Breton charm right on Monterey's waterfront, where you can settle into dappled shade on their tree-lined patio just steps from the wharf and museums. What sets them apart is their genuine commitment to traditional galettes and crêpes—reviewers rave about everything from buckwheat galettes prepared the proper way to decadent Nutella creations, all complemented by freshly squeezed orange juice that feels like a small luxury. Whether you're a local wanting to slow down over breakfast or a tourist celebrating a special morning, the warm, unhurried atmosphere and excellent value for the area make this a genuine gathering place rather than just another tourist stop.”

The crepes here were DELICIOUS and the location can't be beat. Only a few steps from the wharf, museums, and several hotels, the location is perfect. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was excellent and the space felt open with large windows and spaced seating ✨💯
Im a tourist who stopped in today for my birthday breakfast! I ordered the smoked salmon with scrambled egg. My boyfriend ordered the nutella topped with ice cream and whip. Oh my god. Ive never had a breakfast this good!!! I really believe that in my 34 years of life this place served me the best breakfast Ive ever ingested. The way the egg mixed with the crepe was almost like a French toast texture, topped with that smoked salmon and cheese inside as well. It was buttery, rich, and a little crispy. My BFs dish, I dont know for sure but were definitely thinking the whip and ice cream was made by this place. It was so good. And his crepe was nice and soft and doughy with crispy edges. All sorts of delectable textures and flavors that you won't get anywhere else. Thank you guys for the awesome food! When I come back to Monterey I will come back here for breakfast again!!! 😋
My wife and I ate breakfast here because it was just steps from our hotel. The food was fantastic. Prices were good for a tourist area. Sitting on the patio under the umbrella of trees, surrounded by lamp posts and people walking their dogs with French music playing...🤌
I'm breton and picky. Got the complète (ham, egg and cheese) and it was an authentic breton galette (ie. Buckwheat crêpe) and very tasty. Their freshly squeezed orange juice complemented nicely my breakfast to fuely drive to San Francisco airport.
Conveniently located just outside the Portola hotel and spa, Crepes of Brittany was a quaint and comfortable spot. We loved the relaxing feel of the outdoor seating. They were busy on both our visits, but they did a great job getting through all the orders quickly. The wait for your food was much shorter than what they tell you. Staff were friendly and efficient. The food and coffee were delicious. Highly recommend everything we ordered which were, lemon sugar crepes, strawberry crepe, smoke salmon crepe, quiche, cappuccino & latte. We paid approximately $70-75 with tip for every visit.
