Crema's Take

Nestled inside the Pensacola Main Library, Solo Caffe is a hidden gem where specialty drinks like their lavender latte share the menu with genuinely excellent fresh-grilled burgers and standout pastries like their punchy lemon bites. The vibe is relaxed and conducive to lingering—whether you're settling in with a laptop or catching up with friends—though the experience hinges largely on connecting with the seasoned owner, whose personality seems to color each visit.

Interesting reading reviews on here. Upon my first visit, saying “can I have the…” the older gentlemen (gathering from reviews it’s maybe the owner?) i got a blunt response with a straight face “I don’t know, can you?” And points to the coffee machine. I laughed it off and said you’re right! I should get in there!! I got a brief smile and short lecture on English terminology, which to be fair being in a library I was cool with. Just a rough around the edges sarcastic moment and all, seems decent. Wellllll the drink wasn’t good and had like one piece of ice by the time I got it, and it was 9$. My friend went to ask for ice for me on the way out and was DENIED ICE, told “we don’t give away ice”. Rather than ask any questions or offer for her to buy it, she said he was pretty rude to her. Thankfully she went back to calmly let him know that. So many chances to just win a regular customer out of new people trying the shop, and ruining them all. Sadly, most people will choose to get coffee here when already stopping in the library, but with a little pivoting and attention to service and marketing, they could foster an environment that brings people in no-doubt. Now, if the owner wants to tell me what grammatical errors I’ve made here, I’m happy to see them. I failed college business writing, and you’re harsh, so yes, I’m scared.

The older guy who owns it has always been nice to me but he had an attitude with my friend today and I don't think the place is worth dealing with him. Thankfully downtown Pensacola is full of coffee shops who are welcoming to all races.

The food here is incredibly delicious. The burgers are freshly grilled, ensuring a wonderful taste and aroma. The prices are reasonable. The service is warm and attentive. When they found out I was Chinese, they even made an effort to greet and thank me in Chinese. This café, located next to the Pensacola Library with direct access from the library, is fantastic. It’s the most literary café in Pensacola and comes highly recommended. One suggestion: the burgers and sandwiches might be a bit salty for those who prefer a less salty taste.

The lemon bites have a really nice, strong lemon flavor though the frosting is a bit on the sugary side for my taste. The lavender latte is pretty cool since I've never seen that flavor offered anywhere else before, and it has a light flavor that you can taste better if you don't drink it immediately after consuming something else (lesson learned from personal experience).

Located in the Pensacola Main Library. Great coffee, priced right and friendly staff. You can enter through either the library lobby or the Solo entrance on Spring St... シ
