Crema's Take
“Vida Baking is a gluten-free haven that goes far beyond accommodation—their manioc flour pastries and quiches are genuinely exceptional enough to win over anyone, celiac or not. The owner's personal touch and genuinely warm staff create an atmosphere where regulars become devotees, making it the kind of place people actually plan their trips around and miss when they leave.”

Oh! my-God. This is next level gluten-free baking. I knew manioc flour makes for delicious baked goods and is gluten-free, from living in Brazil. However there all I ever had were these little round rolls called Pão de Quijo made with cheese. But at VIDA wow, they’ve made a savory and sweet waffle with the same cheese and manioc flour recipe (mandioca in Brazilian). Their Pão de Quijo waffles are topped with a marinated rosemary sprig, roasted grapes, and ricotta. I could kiss the chef who invented it, its that special. Everything at VIDA is made with manioc flour, the blueberry strudel cinnamon bun is to die for, their bread loaves are thick, but light and springy. My BF got the special sandwich, Vida Cuban, a pressed scrumptious slow cooked pork creation. They have dairy free coffee drinks. Cant wait to try more of their many offerings. A+++
We come here every time we are in Ashland and miss it so much when we leave! I have Celiacs so finding a place I feel comfortable eating at is hard. But even if I didn’t have celiacs I would love this place! Super yummy eats and treats. Super friendly vibes and location. Love 💕
We drive through Ashland often and always stop at Vida! Today I tried the quiche for the first time! It’s what quiche dreams are made of! If you’ve ever read the quiche chapter of Bouchon, the way Thomas Keller romantically describes quiche… this is it! I just wish this place had more indoor seating!
There are not enough positive words to describe this gem of a cafe. Hands down the best quiche I’ve ever tasted (sorry mom). The açaì bowl was house made and delicious in its simplicity. Both our drinks were fantastic as well. We added honey at the recommendation of the barista to both the matcha and the chai. Perfection !
My husband & I visited this place 3 times in our short stay traveling thru Ashland. The staff are awesome, friendly & personable. The owner truly cares about his customers & business, even offering treats for customer’s dogs that visit. He knew I was vegan and even offered me a complimentary side salad when he knew there was honey in the regular dressing and wanted me to be able to enjoy a salad with my husband. Just above and beyond caring and amazing service. Can’t say enough about this place. We will definitely recommend this place to any friends coming thru Ashland! Much love, guys!
