I love the Haraz location in Corktown Detroit. And I do want to like this location in East Lansing a lot. In the early days of the location, the lattes are often made too sweet and I can’t taste the espresso much. So I stopped going for sometime as the lattes were consistently made poorly and I kept getting disappointed after paying for an $8 latte. I don’t mind the price if the product is actually good. I wanted to give the location another try and have been liking how the barista with the glasses makes my pistachio latte. So I was going here again frequently. I don’t like my pistachio latte too sweet with the default pistachio syrup but I prefer the pistachio sauce so I often ask to customize my latte to decrease syrup amount and instead maintain or increase the sauce. This morning I went in and ordered an iced pistachio latte and replicated the my syrup/sauce ratio as the Haraz Corktown Detroit location. Prior to the visit this morning, I had been told that the default for the pistachio latte at this East Lansing location is 3 pumps of pistachio syrup and 3 pumps of pistachio sauce, so 6 total. When I customize the sauce and syrup in my drink, I don’t go above the 6 combined sauces/syrup. The barista this morning then rang up extra charge for the customization. I was annoyed as the extra charge are for syrups and sauces that already go into the latte. But it was whatever then. I waited for my order at a table nearby and overheard her gossiping about my order how I wanted extra for ‘everything’. It is really unprofessional and off putting for a barista be complaining about a paying customer’s order to another barista loud enough that the customer can hear. Especially when smaller coffee shops like Haraz tend to be inconsistent with the way their lattes are made. And it’s more than reasonable for a customer who’s paying $8 on lattes to customize their lattes so they actually like the product they pay. Overall, my experience with this location has been met with unprofessionalism by simply ordering a latte.

While the cup design is a 10 out of 10, the coffee was about a 3.5/10. I know good coffee, and this was a highly acidic variant which caused me immediate heartburn. I can't go back, but I wish them the very best.

A relatively large single space with windows covering two sides, so it's great for getting some work done or just people watching. Wifi speed was about 30 MB/s when I was there, and there are plugs on lower walls to keep you charged. Latte was fine. The pastries looked very sweet so I didn't try anything. Great place to get caffeine and study/work. Staff was friendly.

I went there several times to Haraz East Lansing and the place is nice. The place opened some month ago and it is doing well. The coffee is not bad and their cakes are also edible. Prices are high, they have alot of hidden fees such as dining fee and staff has to be trained better. Not much Recommended place to visit as it is new and well decorated. There are better ones.
