Conjure Coffee ~ Union St. Market
1622 Broadway Suite 132, Fort Wayne, IN
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside Union St. Market, Conjure Coffee is an espresso-focused spot where quality really depends on who's behind the bar—Carmen, a standout barista, knows regulars by heart and delivers consistently great pours, though consistency across the team seems to be their ongoing challenge. The shop shines with its specialty drinks and pour over options in a convenient food court setting that's perfect for a quick grab, though it struggles during peak times when staffing runs thin.”

Shitty customer service!!!! I have never experienced such poor customer service. I ordered a shake and espresso with their custom almond/oat milk. The girl working was too busy chatting with her friend to take my order. She was only half paying attention and as soon as she handed me my coffee and I took a sip, I asked her what kind of milk it was. It was a minor issue that was caused by poor customer service, and then she tripled down with a condescending and rude attitude. She was very condescending and dismissive because I didn't already know that you had to select which kind of milk, so instead she gave me regular milk. Instead of fixing the problem, she kept mansplaining to me while chatting with her friend. It was the worst customer service and the amount of condescendence was insane. She had poor customer service and definitely even has an exclusionary attitude to not inclusively knowing that someone has to understand what their milk selection is and then did not even offer to fix it.
I work at Electric Works so I stop in for coffee quite often. Carmen is always there to greet me with a smile and knows my order without me having to say a word. She's an awesome barista and always takes good care of her customers.
I’m not sure how this establishment remains in business. We’re visiting Ft. Wayne on business. We were delighted to finds a coffee shop within walking distance of our accommodations. Much to our surprise, we found a sign on the counter indicating they’re opening late, at 8 a.m. By 8 a.m. there was still no one behind the counter. I’m glad a neighboring establishment was open and wanted our business.
This was easily our worst coffee experience in Fort Wayne. Only one barista was working on a busy Saturday with several local events happening, and unfortunately, she seemed completely overwhelmed. Each order took over 10 minutes, and because the barista was wearing earbuds, she often had to ask customers to repeat themselves. She also just didn't seem to know how to efficiently work through batches of orders. As the line grew, her attitude became increasingly short and unwelcoming, even though we tipped both times we ordered. As in, she wouldn't even respond to us when she took our order level of unwelcoming. I can't totally blame her though, she was there for hours with no relief or even a place to sit. The cafe was also out of several basic ingredients and menu items like oat milk. We would have loved to try the acai bowl, but given how long it took just to get lattes, it didn’t seem worth the wait. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
Conjure Coffee was a great place to stop and get a hit of caffeine during the day. I liked the food court it was located in, and they had a nice menu. The staff seemed friendly but busy. I went with my standard cafe latte, and found it to be quite pleasant. It was smooth and flavorful, and I consider this to be a good cafe. There were plenty of places for seating, too. It was a nice break, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
