Crema's Take
“Layla & Ringo's is a dog-friendly Chicago spot that nails both quality and vibe, with a genuinely creative drinks menu that goes beyond standard coffee—think standout hibiscus mulled cider and matcha that rivals their espresso. The space works beautifully whether you're rushing in for a quick grab or settling in for hours of work or catch-ups, backed by a consistently warm and attentive team that makes regulars feel genuinely welcomed.”

Always a pleasure to come to Layla & Ringos. I love their branding, their coffees and matcha equally amazing. The workers are always exceptionally sweet. One of my highlighted coffee shops in Chicago. If you need a remote spot to work from, I highly recommend this place :)
10/10 on the hibiscus mulled cider! Specialty drinks are awesome, staff are super friendly, interior is great - it’s a fun spot to catch up with a friend or do some work. Plenty of seating and chargers. It can take a minute to get your drink (they’re popular!), so would not recommend as a grab-and-go place if you’re in a hurry
Very cute concept and so happy there is finally a dog friendly coffee shop right in my backyard! The coffee is good, the almond croissant was delicious and for the most part, I can totally see myself hanging out here. The crowd is on the younger side, which is not something I would expect in this part of town. All good except that it doesn’t have enough seating available. I don’t see the point of the shopping section. That space could easily be used to add more tables to accommodate the crowd.
This place is popping! Lots of people are in and out, and I understand why! The line moves quickly, and there were plenty of options on the menu. The wait for my order was just about 10 minutes. I tried the iced maple spice latte and salted chocolate chip cookie. The latte was good, although the espresso was not particularly strong. The flavor was exactly as marketed. I tasted the maple and I tasted the spice! It wasn't too sweet, yet sweet enough. The chocolate chip cookie was absolutely perfect! It has crispy edges and a soft and chewy center. I loved it! Plenty of customers sat inside and worked remotely on their laptops. I noticed there were a few tiny cubby like private rooms for people to close the door for some privacy.
I have visited this café several times, and unfortunately, the experience has consistently fallen short. On my most recent visit, I ordered a New York bagel in the afternoon when the café was not busy. Despite this, my order took close to 30 minutes, while several customers who ordered after me received their food first. When I opened the to-go box at home, I found the bagel was burnt and contained a hair. The atmosphere of the space is its strongest quality, and I would recommend it primarily for coffee. However, the matcha was also disappointing.
