Crema's Take

EVP Coffee on Madison's east side is a no-frills gem with serious espresso chops and a wonderfully lived-in 90s vibe that feels like settling into a friend's living room. Their in-house roasted beans shine through in meticulously crafted pour overs and pull shots that consistently rival European standards, while the laid-back crew and cozy-yet-airy space make it equally perfect for lingering with a laptop or catching up over a perfectly made café au lait. It's the kind of place where self-service milk and sugar on the table and a nearby parking lot signal they've thought through the details without any pretense.

Cool cafe on the east side of Madison. Has a 90s vibe to it. Super laid back and no frills. Milk and liquid sugar out on the table for self service which I always appreciate. Parking lot is a bit small but pretty easy to park around the block and walk. Guy working there that day was super friendly . Would go back to study or do a work day.

Need coffee fix? Fill it at EVP Coffee East. Outlandishly friendly staff and walkable location from Tenney Park. Space is ultra cozy, airy and feels like having tea at grandmas living room. Today's roasts were from Dark to Light... Campfire, Sumatran, African and Mexican blend decaf. Can't wait to return for some pastries. EVP Coffee East 20 oz coffee really crushes. Their Campfire was the best tasting, nutty more than floral and not burnt like other large chains

Driven past this coffee shop for years but today I decided to stop in. What an EXPERIENCE! Reminds me of a coffee shop we visited in Zanzibar. Had a café au lait with Guatemalan coffee. Wanted something different and it was so good. The barista was amazing. He was more than willing to explain to us the different coffee beans and their unique tastes. He also explained how they roast their beans in-house! Will definitely be back.

Hands down best coffee in the city. They roast their own beans and they really know what they're doing. Quality ingredients, and well made drinks. Some of the best espresso I've had outside of Europe, the barristas know what they're doing. Many of them have worked their for years (they keep employees, which says something). The granola is fantastic, and I LOVE the cherry almond scone. Comfy chairs, great ambiance, cool regulars. Its by far my favorite place to get coffee in the city.
