Crema's Take

Lean-To Farm Hawai'i is a passionate local roaster in Waimea celebrating coffee grown right in the Hamakua District, with devoted customers raving about their signature Paniolo drink and thoughtfully crafted espresso drinks that highlight the beans' subtle flavors. The cozy spot welcomes you in with charming character and dog-friendly sidewalk seating, making it the kind of place where the owner clearly cares as much about community as they do about quality coffee. Great coffee in this little town with so much history. We will return. The pumpkin spice latte was delicious.

I stopped in because I was excited to taste coffee that was grown in Hamakua District. I have always preferred Ka'u coffee to that grown in Kona, but honestly, I think Hamakua is my new favorite! I got a cappuccino that may have been the very best I've ever tasted. This Hamakua coffee had the same smoothness as Ka'u, but the flavor was much more complex. It was deep and rich with fruity and earthy undertones. It was amazing! No bitterness, acidity or after taste. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Nice little place to grab a coffee in Honokaa Town. Neat interior decorations and some sidewalk seating so you can bring your pup. They seem to have some unique menu items such as the Paniola (espresso, tea, honey, cacao, nutmeg, etc.).

Great local craft coffee spot. They will be expanding soon to include more options but you really have to try the "Paniolo"! It's so good with subtle flavors that really enhance the espresso. They grow their own coffee beans so a truly unique experience. The owners are super friendly.

Some of the best coffee we had all week. I was impressed by the owner who not only made delicious coffee, but had the cutest baby co-worker.
