SIGNAL Coffee Roasters

Awesome, small cafe. Great selection of beverages with seasonal flavors, plus some great baked goods. I highly recommend the Sweater Weather (winter time latte) and a Boichik bagel. Friendly staff, too!

I am only docking off a point because Signal could definitely hire more people. The one barista on shift at the moment, was truly knocking out the long lines forming. Did not skimp on the quality of the coffee either. They were kind to all customers and kept their area clean and organized even with the mountain of people ordering. Huge shout out to the barista! They deserve a raise after what they have to endure.

False advertisement: I walked half hour to make it to Signal Coffee by the advertised closing hour, made it, but to my surprise they were closed. Staff leaving the shop explained it’s now open only til 3:30pm (downgrade). But they didn’t care to update their advertised hours on Google maps as a sign of respect to customers.

The auto-kiosk and online ordering is a huge downgrade in vibe here. It’s super rare to get a real coffee experience and the faster ordering I’m sure is nice for the bottom line but it creates a frantic atmosphere with the lovely kind staff people and I saw two people walk away from the counter when the kiosk was the quickest option to order bc the staff were swamped with orders. Everyone is always so nice and I feel for the baristas, and tbh I probably won’t come back while this payment system is in place. I don’t come to Signal for a Starbucks experience.

We got one ube latte and one regular latte. They both taste great. Especially ube I would highly recommend. Don’t forget to reduce sweetness to half, otherwise could be so sweet. Though lattes a bit pricy :(
