Crema's Take
“Tucked near the University of Denver, La Belle Rosette is a charming hybrid gem that doubles as both an intimate coffee bar and wine spot, perfect for lingering over inventive espresso creations like their bananas foster drink or grabbing a quick breakfast sandwich. The compact space draws a devoted crowd for its genuinely friendly staff, quality espresso work, and surprisingly thoughtful wine selection that elevates it beyond typical coffee shop fare. Whether you're after a meticulously crafted specialty drink or a leisurely morning with fresh pastries and conversation, this spot has the warmth and attention to detail that keeps people coming back.”

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I wish I could give 0 stars. My spouse ordered and paid for a chorizo burrito with our hard-earned money. When an order was called, staff used the wrong name, so he didn’t realize the burrito sitting on the counter was supposed to be his. He stood waiting for quite a while and no one acknowledged him — he eventually had to approach the workers himself to ask about his order. He was then told the vegetable burrito left on the counter was his. He politely explained that he ordered chorizo, and instead of correcting the mistake, staff told him, “That’s all that’s left,” and went on about their day. Because his lunch break was already over, he didn’t even have time to argue or request a refund. The tone and body language from staff were hostile and dismissive. As a small business, customer service should matter even more, yet this interaction left us feeling disrespected and, honestly, discriminatory. No customer PAYING for their food should be brushed off when a mistake is made. Our community deserves better than this, and we will not be returning after this experience.
This is a fairly small, but popular place. Normally, I prefer black coffee to flavored coffee drinks but the bananas foster espresso drink sounded interesting. It did live up to the name delivering on the banana flavor. If you're a fan of flavored coffees there are a lot of choices here. There are also good unflavored coffees. There is a selection of sandwiches, chips, cookies and pastries. The Harvard breakfast panino was very good with ham, cheese, egg and guacamole. Just the right size too. There is also wine and beer available and a pear cider that looked interesting. The staff was very friendly and helpful even though it was pretty busy. The space was comfortable to sit with my coffee and sandwich. There is a dedicated parking area behind the building which is accessed from the alley off E Wesley Ave. Although busy, there was adequate parking available; it seems like a lot of the traffic is walk-in from the University.
Went in this morning to grab breakfast before work, I should have been going here since I moved! The guy making coffee was so nice and so was the blonde lady at the counter. Almond Joy espresso & I had to try “The Ohio” because thats where I’m from. It did not dissapoint, I can’t wait to try more. Delicious, fast and considerate! Edit: Been coming here over a year now and all of the baristas are so sweet and everything I’ve had is delicious.
A true gem a block from the University. The staff, Hanna & another lovely woman, were attentive, friendly and proficient. The breakfast sandwiches, coffee and tea were delicious and memorable. And the atmosphere was welcoming, warm and the changeable art and drawings were wonderful! (We know, as they were changed out when we returned on Saturday because we enjoyed the original time we were there on Thursday. Saturday, we had the male owner, according to my son, who frequents this establishment, and another younger man serve us delicious breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Just todiefor!!! Whether attached to DU or just passing through, you’ll be just as welcomed and feel at home! Hopefully we’ll be returning in the future!
It's like a speakeasy, but a coffee shop, and also a wine bar - service was excellent, and I had a new cabernet by the glass which was delicious (really great wine selection!). The location is south side of DU's campus, within walking distance, which is a good thing because parking is limited. Seating is also limited, though the inside is bigger than you might think, due to a second room. I would absolutely go again!
