Twin Snakes Coffee

Crema's Take
“Twin Snakes Coffee has earned its stellar reputation as a genuinely espresso-focused spot where the baristas actually care about your day—regulars rave about being greeted warmly and asked how you're doing, while signature creations like the all-caps BLACK FOREST MOCHA and inventive drinks such as the cookie butter latte prove they're not just nailing the classics. The combination of elite-tier coffee, genuinely delicious breakfast burritos, and fresh pastries makes this the kind of neighborhood cafe where you can linger comfortably, whether you're meeting a friend or settling in for a solo afternoon workday. It's the rare coffee shop that does both specialty and substance equally well—and the staff's genuine friendliness ties it all together.”

Elite tier coffee. Friendly warm staff. Delicious pastries. Fire breakfast burritos. 🔥
I got the cookie butter latte and blueberry muffin, while my husband had a cold brew red eye and a bacon breakfast burrito. Everything was delicious and the staff were friendly!!
Perfectly tasty coffee and chocolate chip cookie on an afternoon workday. Super nice owner & baristas; they check on how your day was. The replaced Milka cafe without missing a beat. Great vibes in the Wal Market Hall indoors or in outdoor patio. Dogs friendly spot too.
The coffee itself tasted really good, but the overall experience could have been better. There was no line, yet I wasn’t greeted or acknowledged when I walked up to order, and only one person was working. I also asked for my coffee extra hot, but it came out barely warm and already cold. Since the shop is inside a market, there was a noticeable smell of fish/seafood from the food store across, which took away from the cozy coffee shop vibe.
I went in for my virgin experience, and Sabrina, the barista, was utterly amazing: I was uncertain what to order, and they suggested the BLACK FOREST MOCHA - yes, it's all caps, because it is just that good. I also got a scone that had a tender crumb and a nice savory flavor. And Sabrina and I had a wide ranging conversation as I was, I believe, although I"ve been known to be wrong, their first customer of the morning. Anyway, I love a good conversationalist! But back to the coffee, cuz that's why you're here, right? They roast a lighter roast than I was expecting, but for that BLACK FOREST MOCHA, it was the perfect choice, with those floral and fruit notes on the sides of the tongue, and the subtle chocolate cherry taste that was giving me life! Here's the real T: ten minutes after finishing the first, I went back for a second! And I'm a boy on a budget, so that ought to tell you something about the sublime coffee experience. Twin Snakes is my new go-to coffee place for the R St. Corridor - and it should be yours, too. I want to go get a third
