Bookends Cafe
Parks Library, Ames, IA
Crema's Take
“Bookends Cafe beautifully blends the quiet refuge of a library with cafe culture, creating an genuinely peaceful spot to settle in with a book and your coffee for hours. The cozy, literary atmosphere and decent coffee and tea selection make it ideal for studying or meeting friends, though the experience seems to hinge heavily on which staff member you encounter on a given day. Pastries and snacks lean pricey, so your best bet is sticking with their traditional drinks and soaking in the calm, bookish ambiance.”

I asked for a tea fog and instead of asking me what tea I wanted in it the guy at register just told the girl making drinks something random which was incredibly rude
Nice cozy vibes like a book store crossed with a cafe Exelent place to study and the coffee and tea is decent as well as the food it can get a little crowded but all the carpets and books do a good job dampening the sound
The two employees that we dealt with were extremely rude. We ordered a frappuccino and asked for no whip creme, they still put the whip creme on and when we proceeded to take the whip creme off they said in a rude tone, "If you wanted the whip creme off we could have taken it off back here instead of you making a mess in the cafe." So I said that we were planning on cleaning it up. The next lady proceed to say, "If you didn't want whip creme then you should have asked for NO whip creme." So I said that she did ask for no whip creme, and the lady gave me a nasty look. Overall very unsatisfied with how rude they were to us for no reason.
Such peaceful place to realxe in the library. The pastry and snacks are expensive, so you might want to stick with the coffee and realted drinks there. The customer service providers are trained well and are quite friendly.
Went to Bookends for the first time in a few weeks. Brought my travel mug and ordered a dark roast coffee. I was charged 1.60 for a weak bodied and flavorless coffee. I dumped it out. If you like GOOD coffee go elsewhere.
