During Lent they are doing a Friday noon fish special. They started on Ash Wednesday, so my husband and I decided to try it. It was the best fried fish I've ever had. The batter was crispy, delicate and crunchy. The fish was cooked just right and melted in my mouth. The coleslaw dressing was perfect; creamy and not too tart or sweet. The fries were crunchy and seasoned just right. I can't wait to go back!
What a gem in this small iowa town. We stopped for lunch and had the pleasure of meeting the owners, hear their story and have a great lunch. Word of mouth travels and hope others will seek out this Bisto and Bakery. Atmosphere is very nice. And the food and bakery items!!! Tenderloin....hand cut and breaded and super meaty..no gristle. New fav! Harvest Turkey sandwich with a bistro flair was scrumptious. The owner makes the bread from scratch.. brioche bun and sour dough bread elevated the sandwiches even more and speak to their quality standards. We left with a homemade cookie and an anti inflammatory inspired recipe cinnamon roll which was actually very good. Can't wait to return again...breakfast, bistro coffees, lunch , dinner, desserts to eat there or purchase to go. How fortunate we stopped!
This place, is tasty, beautiful and delicious. They have a great menu for lunch and breakfast. Two stacks of 3 pancakes, a side of bacon, a side of biscuits and gravy, a slice of cheesecake and two delicious vanilla lattes for $25.
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the person working was friendly and accommodating. We drove in from Des Moines and it was worth the drive. They even sell plant cuttings! Highly recommend the chicken scramble, and the bread pudding was the best I've ever had! We'll definitely eat here again
PLEASE stop here, you will not regret it! Marissa was our server who did an excellent job. Great personality and very attentive. The breakfast burrito and cinnamon roll are second to none. Cute country decor inside. The cook came out to check and see how our breakfast tasted. I will definitely stop again on my way to or from Des Moines. Thank you!!!
