Epic Donuts
102 Dees Dr Suite B, Madison, MS
Crema's Take
“This Madison donut shop wins hearts with genuinely kind staff and classically satisfying donuts that keep families coming back for those nostalgic Bear Claws and glazed favorites. While the service can be slow during busy morning hours, the warm hospitality and homemade feel make it worth the wait for a quick coffee and pastry break. It's the kind of place where the people matter as much as the donuts, though specialty seekers might want to call ahead to see what's fresh.”

One Sunday my sweet momma was longing for what we call Bear Claws. I opened Queen Google and searched for the closest doughnut shop to us which happened to be Epic Donuts. I had no idea what these folks had or if they were any good but because momma is in Hospice Care, what she craves, I am going to try to provide. I followed Queen Google to the shop in Gluckstadt and was thrilled to learn they have a drive through! I pull up, ask the very young laday if she knows what a Bear Claw is and if they have them. To my astonishment, she knew what the heck I was talking about and she informed me they did in fact have them. That was an excellent start to my first visit. I and my family are big fans of Krispy Kreme doughnuts but the nearest one to us is over half an hour away. Needless to say we don’t ever get them. So, I thought I would grab a couple of glazed to see how they compared. The moment of truth…home with momma at the table, hot coffee and Bear Claws before us. We each pull off our first bite and simultaneously we were back in her parent’s kitchen where her dad would serve up Bear Claws with so much love and care. The pastry was amazing. As for the glazed, they surpassed Krispy Kreme. No joke. I didn’t go into the shop itself so I cannot speak to that, however the samplings from Epic Donut that we partook of have definitely drawn us back for more.
Had a few extra minutes before a meeting and figured I had time to grab a donut and a coffee, standing at the register for 20 minutes and now I’m running late
Spent $35 on a dozen donuts and a frappe. There was not a good selection of donuts at all. Not a single specialty donut. I arrived there at 7:45am and it took them 25 minutes to get my frappe and then it was not very good. Hardly any flavor after the girl making it had to keep adding milk to it to make it pourable. The people in the drive through were getting their drinks immediately but the people in the store were not. There were only a handful of people in the store, most which had already been served. I was late for work after coming here and didn’t even get a good drink to justify it. I can’t speak to the taste of the donuts because they were for my son’s daycare workers. But just the very small selection was disappointing and underwhelming. Also, you can’t get a dozen mixed at a set price so I very much overpaid for basic donuts.
I chose a regular glazed donut & the one with an Oreo on top! Both were pretty good! Definitely will come back! 😊
These donuts are truly EPIC and the people working are are very nice. Thank y’all very much for the extra help you gave me!! Merry Christmas ✝️
