Crema's Take
“Nestled in Morgantown, Bittersweet Cafe is a beautifully decorated community gathering spot where the coffee is just the beginning—their thoughtfully crafted food menu shines with fresh salads, hearty soups, and standout pastries like crème brûlée that locals rave about. The space itself is a destination, filled with real plants and seasonal touches that create a genuinely cozy atmosphere perfect for lingering over your drink or catching up with friends. With 4.6 stars across nearly 800 reviews, this place has earned a reputation as much for its warm hospitality and attention to detail as for its excellent specialty coffee and inclusive options like gluten-free offerings.”

Nice little coffee shop with great breakfast items, salads and sandwiches. I had the vegetable barley soup and my wife had the spinach salad. Both were excellent 👍
I'm critical with my reviews; especially tight-fisted with 5-stars, but in this case I have no choice — everything's absolutely stellar!! Loved the service; the setting and atmosphere are exquisite; and the cold-brew iced coffee I ordered was one of the best I've ever had!
Came here after FLW Fallingwater tour (highly recommend btw) and was immediately impressed with the cozy space, real plants & pumpkins, fall themed decor and their pay it forward wall. It was a Saturday morning and we enjoyed what we ordered, everything was fresh!
Upon arriving I was super excited to try this place out. The scenery is absolutely stunning! The inside is beautiful, clean, and the decor is fabulous! We waited in line for about 15 minutes, and when we finally got to the register the lady just walked away. Whenever she came back we ordered two peach teas, “The Bird” (no tomatoes), “Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese” & crème brûlée.My friend tipped 15% on this order $60+ total… We then got our number and were told they would find us. We have a seat and our peach teas came out very fast. (Not worth the price) (Taste could improve in my opinion) We then sat there over 30 minutes, I watched people that were in line with us get their food and leave by time we got ours. I asked a lady at one point if this were normal because we didn’t order alot and were confused how this worked. She said that is how it is on Saturdays, which okay but why wouldn’t you want to communicate to new customers? When the food arrived , I was really disappointed. I said to her, we didn’t just spend $60+ on this did we? I’m all about spending money if it’s worth it but it wasn’t. My sandwich had no taste (the bird) however I tried my friends & hers was delicious! I love the fact they use fresh ingredients but if I ever return it will be strictly to just try their coffee.
We had a gluten free wrap and a gluten free sandwich and bother were superb. The creme brûlée was amazing with a lovely flavor and a crunchy top! The hot and sweet pepper soup with sausage was filling and spicy—again fabulous. I only wish the fresh lemonade had a bit more lemon:). The outdoor seating is calm and beautiful.
