Espresso Coffee and Pastry
617 Canal St, New Orleans, LA
Crema's Take
“Tucked on Canal Street, this espresso-focused spot draws a devoted following for its thoughtfully crafted drinks—particularly their matcha lattes and smooth house blend—paired with an atmosphere that feels genuinely welcoming and beautifully designed. The pastry selection leans into creative, Instagram-worthy treats like Dubai chocolate and Turkish delight that justify the premium pricing for those who venture beyond the basics. Whether you're settling in for a slow sit with friends or grabbing something memorable before a flight, the patient baristas and warm hospitality make this a standout gathering spot in New Orleans.”

Probably the most mediocre coffee shop I’ve been to. Our cold latte just tasted like plain milk and the pastries were overpriced. Granted, I didn’t try the Turkish delight pastry that they advertise and is clearly in the most popular, but the slice of king cake I got was nine dollars. Tasted fine but was nothing special.
Espresso on Canal Street is an absolute gem. The ambience is beautiful, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed—it’s the kind of place you instantly enjoy being in. The Matcha latte was easily one of the best ever had. Perfectly made, smooth, and flavorful, it’s clear the team takes real pride in what they do. They truly go above and beyond to make sure every drink is made right. Highly recommended.
This place is so cute and the coffee/pastry selection is awesome! The woman behind the counter was so patient and pleasant for 6:45am. I drove to this place after dropping friends at the airport and it was the only place open - I am so glad I went and I highly recommend this little place to anyone scoping out Canal st in NOLA.
Jaja made us the best coffee I’ve had in New Orleans! The pumpkin latte is delicious but the house blend lattes is my favorite!! For sure come check this place out if you are looking for more than just your standard coffee!!
Never had a coffee as smooth as this! And don’t even get me started with the desserts, Dubai chocolate galore 🍫I was welcomed with beautiful smiles and amazing service. Ordered iced coconut latte with milk, iced white chocolate mocha and Dubai chocolate croissant. All options are amazing but I highly recommend the iced coconut latte. Safe to say I will be coming back to try more dessert and more drinks. Be in the lookout for another coffee review.
