Crema's Take
“Baldwin & Co. beautifully marries a curated bookstore with a thoughtfully designed café, creating a space that feels like a beloved local sanctuary where you'll actually want to linger for hours. The team here excels at both craft—their iced matcha lattes and specialty drinks like turmeric lattes are excellent—and hospitality, genuinely helping you find exactly what you need while maintaining an atmosphere that's warm, spotlessly maintained, and filled with tasteful music. Whether you're settling in with a book, meeting a friend, or enjoying their housemade pastries on the outdoor patio, this New Orleans gem strikes that rare balance of being both a serious coffee destination and a genuinely welcoming community space.”

Warm, welcoming staff. Excellent iced matcha latte. Spotlessly clean and gorgeous space with comfortable seating. Had to go back the next day and read for a couple hours. Great, tasteful music playing overhead at a gentle volume. This place clearly is an important hub for the curious kind hearted intellectuals of New Orleans as well as a chill place to get some work done on the free wifi and have a yummy snack. If you love coffee and books, this is your spot.
Great coffee and great bookstore. Definitely recommend going! Love the vegan banana bread and tumeric drink.
One of the most beautiful, welcoming, and well thought out coffee shops I’ve ever been to. The team is friendly and provides great service. There is a ton of seating both indoor and outdoor. They even have a podcast studio in the shop. The book selection was tremendous and I love the “blind date” book concept as well. We tried several of their coffee options and everything was fantastic. I especially love that they use oat milk for their drinks as someone who doesn’t drink dairy milk. If you live nearby or are visiting you should definitely stop by for coffee, getting some work done, or finding a new book to read!
We were glad to be able to come to the bookstore & cafe on our last day in New Orleans. What a treasure — I picked up two books (one fiction set in New Orleans by a local author, and one about designing spaces and systems for justice). I am looking forward to both!
Loved this cute little shop that doubles as bookstore and coffeeshop with very endearing layout and love its vibe and the staff helped me choose right kind of coffee as I wanted iced and wanted to pick between Go Tell It On Thr Mountain or Rose Matcha and they recommended the former and i was glad to have listened as it was just Perfect flavorsome coffee!!!! Do give this place a try when in New Orleans or even if you live there and haven't gone there yet. I'll definitely go again when in town.
