Crema's Take
“Tucked into Vail's slopes, Big Bear Bistro balances serious coffee craft with a welcoming mountain-town vibe, earning consistent praise for creative signature drinks like their Masterpiece sandwich paired with a standout pumpkin spice latte. The spot shines as a social hub where you can linger over a cappuccino or chai tea latte while the kitchen turns out surprisingly inventive light fare—think their flavor-packed Mona Lisa salad and hearty breakfast options that keep both skiers and families coming back. Fair warning: consistency can be hit-or-miss with temperature and execution, but when they get it right, it's genuinely delicious.”

I had a really disappointing experience at Big Bear Bistro. After a long day of skiing, all I wanted was a refreshing iced coffee, and instead I left frustrated. From the moment I walked in, the woman working made me feel like I was an inconvenience. The service felt cold and dismissive. To make matters worse, my coffee was served in a cracked cup — which is honestly unacceptable. I also ordered an iced water and was told there was already a jug of water out for customers. When I explained I specifically wanted iced water, the water provided was room temperature. It felt like basic requests were treated as a hassle. They did remake my coffee, but then forgot the vanilla syrup — and instead of properly fixing it, they brought me a separate cup with just the syrup flavoring in it. It felt careless and unprofessional. On top of the poor service, the coffee itself wasn’t good at all. It was so bad we ended up throwing it away.
We ordered a deli sandwich and chicken sandwich both were good but they were cold like I was expecting something warm. Also, the crepe was decent I would not say it was the best but decent as per price
Great location, great food, great hot latte. Came in the off season and got a Masterpiece sandwich (I added an egg because it was breakfast time) and a pumpkin spice latte. Everything was delicious and I love the fresh baked ciabatta roll!!!
Ordered the Mona Lisa, Big Bears take on the Caprese Salad, it was absolutely divine. Flavor explosion in all the right ways! The rest of the family ordered the chai tea latte, chicken tortilla soup, the BLAT sandwich - all delicious
Great takeout service. Hence the reason I forgot to take pictures of the food. My friend had the breakfast burrito which was quite good as I also took a bite. As a gym rat I had to cut on calories which is why to all people looking for a protein hack, all you have to do is order a “side” of eggs and ask them to put bacon. It’s a little cup with a good amount of eggs and slices of bacon. Straight fuel and protein. The aesthetic is really cool and the flowers right now in the summer give it a really cool touch. Always somewhat busy.
