Crema's Take
“An Nam is a quiet, welcoming Vietnamese gem in Somerville where the staff genuinely cares about making your visit smooth, even during the dinner rush. Their pho stands out with distinctively thick noodles swimming in a rich, deeply flavored broth that keeps customers raving, and the generous meat portions pair beautifully with their fresh spring rolls. Whether you're settling in with a laptop for the afternoon or meeting friends over a leisurely meal, this family-friendly spot opens late and maintains the calm, clean atmosphere that makes you want to linger.”

Me and my girlfriend visited An Nam and our experience was great. The waiters were very friendly, the restaurant was very clean and quiet. I ordered the Chicken Pho and it was very delicious! Lean chicken, soft rice noodles, very filling portion. The prices of the bowls are also reasonable. I can recommend An Nam for a great pho!
The staff is very nice and kind, saw them handle a very impatient customer where she demanded/argued a 6 top now but clearly they only had table for max 4 people & have to wait. Once they left, they seated us. All the food was fresh and delicious, the nuoc cham def. is mild and not spicy which is good for those not wanting strong fish sauce. Not pictured was the grilled pork vermicelli bowl well balance of veggies, herbs, noodles and meat while the Vietnamese ice coffee is very authentic/so good.
The food was great. The broth was flavorful and the noodles were bigger than normal pho noodles which is fine, was just surprised. The shrimp spring roll is okay. The meat portion in the pho was good too.
I went with my friend a couple days before Christmas on a Monday evening and there was nobody else there, so my expectations were immediately set to “low.” So glad we were pleasantly surprised! We shared the oxtail pho (number 1 on the menu) and the bánh nậm and both were amazing! Even for our spoiled Vietnamese tastes, the flavors and textures were so good. The oxtail was the most tender I have ever had, the broth was clear but deeply flavorful and the noodled were cooked just right. I only wish they had waited just a minute for us to finish the bánh nậm before serving the phở because I like mine to be piping hot. The drinks were also surprisingly outstanding, even though I have had many salted plum sodas before. My friend had a cocktail, which was strong enough and pretty too. More patrons arrived later. Service was alright, as expected for a place like this. Would come back again and again for the phở.
By far the BEST Vietnamese restaurant I've been to!! Omg their Pho 🍜 is so unique in that the noodles are thick and the broth was so rich in flavor. 11/10 💯. The Wonton Noodle Soup w the pork wontons 🍜🥟 were SO GOOD!! I think this is the best wonton noodle soup I've ever had. The egg noodles were perfect and the broth was so flavorful. The wontons were so juicy. 11/10 💯. The shrimp spring rolls 🦐 were great starters although nothing special. I would definitely come back here to try their claypot dishes (it looked really good) 🍲.
