Crema's Take

Egg River Café is a beloved Hood River gathering spot where the wait is worth it—locals and visitors happily queue up for their thoughtfully made food and excellent coffee, with servers who genuinely care about getting your order right. The kitchen puts real love into everything from fresh breakfast spreads to loaded brisket fries and creative burgers, making it clear this is a place where quality ingredients and attention to detail matter. It's the kind of small-town café that fills up fast because word has gotten out, so arrive early if you can, but the warm welcome and bustling community vibe make it feel like exactly where you're meant to be.

Around 11am almost all tables full but was immediately greeted and put on a list. Waited maybe 10-15 minutes. Orders only took 10-15 minutes to come out. Tastes excellent. Zero complaints for my dish. Fiancé’s dish - the meat was bit tough (3.5/5) but I would come back.

Just get here. They're serving up absolutely amazing food, so fresh, excellent ingredients, and clearly made with love. We tried the brisket fries, which were loaded with super tender brisket and cheese, 2 house made sauces and lots of Pico, and avocado. The chilaquiles were bright, and fresh, the skirt steak, fork tender, and so well seasoned! The ribs were also great, house made bbq, and pull apart, but not quite fall off the bone. The seasonal veg was a surprising standout, with brocolini and carrots, carrots so good that even though I dislike cooked carrots I found myself wanting more. Ube cheesecake for dessert, not positive this was made in house, but it was still really really good! Thanks for a lovely dinner!

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time. Unfortunately we picked Veteran's Day and it was packed. Our server was friendly, helpful, and informative, but the service was very slow, I'm sure due to the number of people in the restaurant. I also believe our food was sitting on a warming table or in the kitchen for a while because it came out not as hot as it should have been, and the fruit plate with my veggie omelet was fairly pathetic. The California croissant with the potatoes and avocado was excellent.

Small town rest with their own vibe. Be aware - front parking have only 4 spots, but they have extra lot right across the street. We tried regular hamburger and mt.Adams burger - both are delicious

We wanted to try this place for a long time! We were in the area, so decided to give it a try. Got there right when it opened, very few people were there besides us. Prices are high, but isn’t everything? I ordered a scramble with sausage and bacon. Hubby ordered pancakes, bacon and eggs. Everything was good. Service was good too. Fun place with lots of fun decor. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
