Community Grounds

1134 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH

★★★★★4.7(303 Google reviews)

Crema's Take

Community Grounds has moved to a popup trolley format, so follow their Instagram to catch them around Columbus rather than heading to their old storefront. What keeps regulars coming back is their creative signature drinks like the beloved Swamp Black Coffee, paired with genuinely impressive food—their empanadas come in generous portions with flavors that hit just right. This is the kind of place that gets families excited about weekend coffee runs and creates a real community vibe, whether they're at a permanent location or popping up around town.

PSA- THEY ARE NO LONGER AT THIS LOCATION. THEY ARE A POPUP TROLLEY. Just trying to prevent newbies from going to an empty storefront. Follow their IG to find out where they are or go to Kokomo’s further up Parsons (towards children’s hospital) if you’re looking for the next closest locally owned coffee shop. Fwiw, community grounds is great and you should try their popup if you can!

We are so grateful to Community Grounds for supporting our recent event, and our families are still raving about them! Their food and drinks are absolutely incredible, and they are wonderfully attentive to allergies and food preferences, which means so much to our community. The staff is kind, patient, and truly invested in creating a welcoming experience for everyone. Their service is impeccable, and they are fantastic with children, which is no small thing at a family event! Community Grounds is a true gem in our area, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Have been going here since they opened. Any place that will get a preteen (and now teen) out of bed on the weekend, is truly a phenomenal place! Love their swamp black coffee, but honestly I haven't tried a drink I didn't like. The kid recommends the smoothie! Oh, and a duck - you need to purchase a duck (or duck friend) at each visit!

Great community place for coffee. I got a latte with pumpkin flavoring and it was good - it was more on the gingerbread smell profile and the coffee itself was good. I also get a bag of cat treats when I'm there because my kids like the brand they offer. Shop itself is a cool little shop with plenty of seating. They sell books, art, bagged coffee and tea. I recommend - it was nice to have a warm seasonal drink ob a cold rainy day - thank you!

Wonderful spot! I ordered one of each empanada and couldn't finish them all, whoops! Very generous portions, flavors were all spot on, you really can't go wrong with any of them. Coffee was also very solid. Lots of really nice art; I had a great time reading about how much of an impact this spot has on its community. Really enjoyed stopping in here and would 100% go again.
