Crema's Take
“Antidote is a moody, multi-level escape with an unmistakably literary atmosphere—think Edgar Allan Poe meets vintage library—where the real star is the intentional design of intimate spaces perfect for lingering conversations or solo reflection. Their cocktail program is serious and technically excellent, with creative signatures like Nothing Compares worth seeking out, and they stay open late (until 11pm) which makes them an ideal nightcap destination after other adventures around Asheville. The vibe is authentically atmospheric rather than trendy, featuring dimmed lighting, old books, wooden tables, and glamorous glassware that elevates even a simple coffee into an experience.”

Love this place!! It’s now our favorite date night spot. It’s usually quieter but this past time they had live music. The drinks are delicious. Definitely try Nothing Compears if it’s on the menu! Go check it out!!
Treated ourselves to some N/A cocktails and charcuterie after a visit to sauna house. They serve until 11pm which was perfect because we got out of our sauna appointment at 10. Perfect little nightcap. Everything was delicious and the ambiance was great!
It’s rare to find an establishment with the exact vibe this place offers. The cocktail program is superb- from glassware, technique, ingredient build, presentation, all of it was excellence. Our favorite drinks were the “Late Harvest” seasonal special and the “Nothing Compears” stole the show. Service from the maître d’ was exactly as it should be- professional, comfortable, and knowledgeable. The interactions with the bartender were short but wonderful as well. We had a few small bites and both were excellent and great portions for the price. The hummus was a stand out in quality and flavor- even the veggies served with it. This place has an energy and design that really sets the mood for romance and elegance. At the end of it all- the pricing for everything was more than fair considering the quality and care you’re getting with everything. Ignore the bad reviews for this place unless you want a really good laugh while you’re on their mezzanine sipping on some greatness. Don’t be a drunk jerk, show up with an absurd amount of people, or ruin everyone else’s evening by bringing your spawns and you’ll be just fine to enjoy a truly magical evening.
Very authentic place with an old books vibe. Wooden tables, old yellowish lamps and glamorous tableware. Dimmed light and calm music. I didn’t have any food (not sure if they have much), but coffee was good. There is parking outside, but not free. And three stories with plenty of room
Love love love the atmosphere here! Very Edgar Allen Poe with 3 levels of intentionally decorative spaces. Drinks are ok but the food is absolute trash! Go only for the vibes and tip the bartenders generously.
